i'm just new to this internet stuff and am studying with the jehovah's witnesses at present.please don't take my lack of knowledge as cheek.
i just want to know if it's meant to be only jehovah's witnesses using this site.
i fully intend to become baptised but was wondering if there's any security to prevent people who shouldn't be using the site and are maybe abusing it from doing so.

What a real shame and disappointment that you're most potent message to Yvonne was one based on negativity and judgementalism. How dare you lazily assume you know why people have left the Witnesses! The old accusation of immorality is as tiresome as it is inaccurate.

This is not about discouraging you but actually encouraging you to do your homework. I've noticed a double standard among the witnesses: They often speak in very negative ways about what other people believe but become very defensive and closed-minded when they're invited to examine their own beliefs.
Yvonne, you cannot wish that something is true just because it suits your present emotional need. It has to stand up to scrutiny and not employ mind-control tactics to avoid thinking about it. All of us - me as well as you - need to take personal responsibility for doing our homework.

I used to fear that Armageddon would strike during one of my increasingly frequent troubled and doubting periods of time. I can imagine what my thoughts would have been had it struck back then: "Darn it! Why did it have to happen now and not during the recent big assembly that had me all buoyed up and keen to start all over again!"

but the fun thing is the roundabout way this change is announced.

If they really wanted to put more emphasis on the Bible why not ditch the magazines altogether and print more Bibles for distribution? Duh!

I wonder if they have thought about the effect this move will have on that old barometer of how good the Rank and File are in field service; 'return visits'.
It naturally follows that return visits just to deliver the magazines may now be less frequent. (I remember my magazine route - whoa what memories!) Surely if the Awake! is published less often, magazines will be delivered less often.
How can something that is to officially occur less frequently serve as an example of maintaining the present level of activity or even of increasing that activity?
The same sentence can describe both nominal and committed JWs:
Someone who tries to keep an "arm an' a leg in" the world
(ever increasing nominal members)
Someone who keeps Armageddon-ing the world
(ever decreasing numbers of zealous preachers)

So, does anyone know if the Awake! will increase in number of pages? By the way, what is the current circulation of the Awake!? Has it slower in recent years? It's a long time since I've had my hands on an actual copy.
