Why do you live where you live?

for me i just drifted there when i finished my degree and the girl i was living with at the time got a good job with hewlett packard.

i tagged along and got a job within commuting distance.

i don't really like the city i live in but i haven't bothered moving for the last 6 years through inertia i guess.

I haven't been to Luton so I can't chip in with any redeeming features - but it can't be good as my b/f refuses to acknowledge it exists even when I show him the flights from there are much cheaper than from Gatwick!

Oooh cheek, ozzie - lucky you are far enough away for my slap not to sting!- I live a bit south from "there".

I am presently in Croydon, looking out as I do everyday, on bunches of concrete grey buildings! There are few views less dull! Its cool that you know where I'm talking about though!

Actuall Mtbatton - Patrcik Stewart lost his hair very young like his late teens so if he had a proud map, it was shortlived! Just thought I'd add that piece of trivia in!

I can categorically state that Croydon has to be the most ugly and pointless and cultureless place on the planet. There I've said it!

There one disfellowshipped woman says that she has a court order stating that her children cannot get baptised - their father is still a JW. You may want to see if this person can give you any advice on getting the same established. Your 12 year old is already of an age to be coming under pressure for baptism and if she sees her mother doing it then she may not be far down the line. It is terribly serious for a child to be baptised - I know I was 13 and I didnt understand the implications. If I had not taken that step of baptism all the "sins" I have committed since whilst they would have alienated me from the congregation, at least my parents and sisters would still be able to speak to me and I to have a relationship with them. At least then I could have kissed my grandparents goodbye before they died.
