I think too that people are just getting tired out from all of life's stresses and then add to that the supposedly "refreshing meetings." I think that if they added one more mtg. to the schedule, you'd see a lot more going out the door.

That's frightening sKally. Nothing would surprise me anymore from happening. Our rights are slowly eroding. Someday they'll make pizza, Twinkies, etc. illegal as it makes for obese people - which adds to our health costs. Where does it end? Juni :)

Couldn't agree with you more Drew. And you have a good point - this is all over the world not just in the states. The "Truth" appealed to people because it was different than what was being done and taught in the churches. As we go on, JW org. is just the same old thing. Turns off a lot of people. And the hypocrisy is finally getting to people. Also, them dictating every move you make. They are out of touch w/reality and what it takes to raise a family and be low on money. I think a lot of people are finally waking up to all of this.

My friend has been attending meetings and assemblies for his own personal reasons. What has been said here is the same thing he's noticed with the brothers and sisters. Sounds like there is a real problem among all of the cong. Juni~~~~~~~~

How can she pick and choose who she wants to shun?
by Bumble Bee inrecently my mother and sister have cut me out of their lives.
they made it quite clear that they don't want anything to do with me anymore, my mother going so far as to change her will (not that there was much there anyways).. i have not da, am not df, have never said anything to anyone in my family about my doubts or what i have uncovered about this religion, i just stopped going to meetings.
(i usually go to the dc with her, and some ca, and the memorial at her cong.).

Sounds to me like your mom and sis treat you as my mom and sis do to me. I was very emotionally abused as a child by my mom. Tried to confront her w/letters and my sis just got angry w/me for hurting mom's feelings. Of course mom does everything for sis. I have a brother who also treats mom like crap. But they are in her favor. It's a control thing - only if you allow it will it continue. The only way to stop it is to stop the game playing and set your boundaries. Make up your mind as to what you think you want to live with. Juni

Hi Robdar!
We lost our Golden boy, Coach, in November. At times, we still get teary-eyed. They are great pals and give back far more than we give them. Enjoy your memories. Juni :)
