Watchtower No.3 2017 - The Four Horesmen
by pale.emperor inthis is the first time i've read through a watchtower magazine in about a year.
although i've been our only 8 months it really git me how crazy i must have sounded when i was a jw talking to non jws.. while other bible based religions talk about the 4 horsemen and back up their theories with other scriptures or historical evidence, the watchtower have taken so such steps.
1914 is thrown in there as if it's universally agreed that jesus started ruling since then.. even when i was a jw i never really understood why, if the pale horse represents jesus, why is he first?

There are TWO white horses. They are not the same. The two could not be more dissimilar.
The white horse of Rev. 6 is a direct contrast to the white horse of Rev. 19
The white horse of Rev. 6 is government by man.
The white horse of Rev. 19 is government by Christ
The white horse of Rev. 6 is given a "bow" symbolizing carnal warfare. He is given a "crown" symbolizing the authority to use it.
See Jesus words to Pilate John 19:11"Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above."
The white horse of Rev. 19, in contrast, is called (19)"faithful and true" and "judges and wages war righteously". This second white horse carries a rider who does not have a cheap crown, as was given the first rider. No, his head has "many diadems". This second white horse has no method of carnal warfare, but rather "his eyes are a fiery flame"
The first white horse is not spoken of as being righteous in any way. The second, is said to be "faithful and true" and his garments give testimony as to his qualifications as they are sprinkled in blood symbolizing his self sacrifice.
When people talk about the two very different horses as though they were one, it reflects cult programming.
The first white horse is followed by war, famine, suffering and death.
The second is followed by unlimited righteous horses.

This is an interesting thread. And so many posters have excellent input.
I would like to add my thoughts.
I believe Ray was studious in his work and a super duper records keeper. I am quite certain that he did not plan to do things the way they played out.
I base this on the content of the letters he wrote to me. I corresponded with him over several years. During that time, I got to know him a little better.
I told Ray about the things I was doing locally in opposition to Watchtower, and surprisingly, he questioned these actions. He said "why would you want to do that?"
His response tells me that he most certainly did not 'plan over an extended period to amass large quantities of information to build a massive case against Watchtower'.
At the end, he added the UN affair to his book, although it had nothing to do with his personal "Crisis of Conscience". Before I sent Ray the copy of the original letter from the UN that appears in the final edition, I first questioned him on it.
What goes around, comes around.

We need to see a few elders on a post, in a public place.
A warning to the rest of the dumb schmucks.

The four horses of the Apocalypse present a picture of this existence.
The four horses represent life on this world. Every time a man gets on a white horse to "fix the world"... the other horses follow, Warfare, Famine and Death right behind. Always.
Caesar, Ivan the Terrible, Henry VIII, Hitler, Mussolini, Idi Amin, Lenin, Bush and now Trump. They all get on that White Horse to ride. Authority is given them like a cheap crown. And a bow. They are let loose to prove themselves.
The end is always the same. It is to the detriment of humanity.
But the second White Horse is no fake. It is Christ Himself. He rides in a righteous war. His angels ride behind, not three horses, but uncountable, all righteous. His crown is not a fake. His appointment is real and at the cost of his own blood, of which he is sprinkled.
The sky is darkened, the Earth quakes. As it was when the Christ died, it is again when He comes. It is the sign of the Son of Man.
This is the Apocalypse.

New light in this weeks WT?
by Indian Larry inanybody have any ideas where they are going with the "new light" they have been pushing last week and this week?
for instance in this weeks study article one section reads:.
in years gone by, we believed that jehovah became displeased with his people because they did not have a zealous share in the preaching work during world war i. we concluded that for this reason, jehovah allowed babylon the great to take them captive for a short time.

The interesting thing in today's study is, in the 1914-1918 period, there was no "the preaching work" because there was no "the slave organization" to initiate it, because there was no "faithful slave".... till 1919.
In fact, since this whole discussion was about the time before the supposed "appointment of the slave", all these persons were just members of Christendom who were "uppity". They had no special standing from Jesus supposed standpoint because he hadn't chose anybody for anything yet. ACCORDING TO WT THEOLOGY.
And nobody can put that simple fact together.
In fact, according to WT dogma, the Master, Jesus, who "went away for a long time" left nobody in charge of "feeding the household of faith" for 2000yrs until Br. Booze.
Sure, this contradicts the illustration, but who would notice? The yucks in the pews can't see the forest for the trees. They soak it up, when they should be puking it out.
How in fact can the Watchtower magazine have any significance whatsoever when the guy who invented it was a member of Christendom. CT Russell died before the supposed 1919 slave appointment. Who the hell was he...
Why the hell would God's people want to use a rag that CT Russell named.

1919 What???
by NikL ini had seen it before but never actually looked.. sure enough in july 15 2013 wt .... 17 in the past, we have stated in our publications that these last four references apply to jesus’ arriving, or coming, in 1918. as an example, take jesus’ statement about “the faithful and discreet slave.” (read matthew 24:45-47.
) we understood that the “arriving” mentioned in verse 46 was linked to the time when jesus came to inspect the spiritual condition of the anointed in 1918 and that the appointment of the slave over all the master’s belongings occurred in 1919.

The biggest problem for WT though, is that the new "slave" teaching finds Christ making his first appointment at the end of his journey.
What "master of the house" would start off on a long journey away from the estate and leave NOBODY in charge for the bulk of his absence?
...only to sneak back "invisibly" just prior to his BIG PUBLIC RETURN and appoint one house member in charge of the entire house, so that when he makes his big entry, he can pat him on the back.
It's bullshight.

Londo1112 days agoThe new light on the "slave" a few years ago was that Jesus did not yet appoint the slave "over all his belongings" yet, but when they get to heaven to join the 144000. However, they still maintain in 1919 that Jesus appointed the slave to serve food at the proper time. The problem the Watchtower has is that the verse only mentions the 'second coming' ONCE.
Whereas, WT teaching has him coming TWICE, the first 'second coming' to 'appoint' in 1919 and another, 2'nd--second coming, (third coming) at the GT.
Even if one were to accept WT teaching that the leaders were truly appointed (barf) by Christ, there's nothing to establish 1919 or any other time.
45 “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave [supposed WT dudes] whom his master [Jesus] appointed [past tense] over his domestics, [everyone] to give them their food at the proper time?z46 Happy is that slave [
GB] if his master [Jesus] on coming finds him doing so!a47 Truly I say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings.
