Review: Draw Close to Jehovah Book

i read the draw close to jehovah book because a jehovahs witness told me that it had some ?deep?

spiritual information in it.

the book appears, at first glance, to be all about knowing jehovah god and his attributes.

"It is funny that the only religious group that uses the correct name is Jehovah's Witnesses."

Rastafarians and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church use the name Jehovah. So, I guess JWs aren't the only ones that know god's name, eh, BroBennett?

The Jared I knew was young and un-married at the time (mid-late 80s). I think some of his siblings are still around Seattle or some of them were in the late 90s but I haven't been in contact with any of them in a long time.
I'm originally from the Tri-cities but the only JW I'm familiar with in that area is my grandfather. I wish I had more to give you.

Well, I knew a Jared Lucy from Seattle. He was from a very large JW family. Most of his siblings had odd names like Hokey and Zipporah. They all lived in West Seattle way back when. I don't know if this is the same guy but he's the only JW Jared I knew in Western Washington when I was a JW.

Confused-
good lord. I'm sorry to hear about what your girl is going through. I had a close cousin do the same thing to me long before my family left because my older sister had got in some trouble with the elders. I can't tell you how confused and then bitter that experience made me....and I was so young. My mom was still JW though and didn't think she should defend me. It's good to see you standing up for your girl--I'm sure she's going to be better for it and appreciate you being there for her one day.

Is the word "bulletin" negative?

at last nights meeting my dad gave the announcements and he said bulletin board.

after the meeting an elder came up to him to tell him that bulletin is a negative word and to say information board next time.

whats up with that?

crizlee- 6 months seems like a long long time when you're in hell, but you can make it. It's fantastic you're doing so well in school. If it were me, I'd do college. That's just me though. College was a good experience for me, hard, but good. Your parents are willing to let you go to a local college on their tab? Well...maybe there's some hope for them coming around, right? But I wouldn't put college, leaving the JWs or moving forward with your life on hold once you're legally, financially, and mentally able to. Stay strong and don't let the little bitches at the congregation get you down.

BroBennett-"Correlations can give a person an idea of what kind of sport is right to play and progress at." No. Let me explain--a correlation is not proof. Example: The murder rate rises in the summer months. The sale of ice cream also rises in the same exact months. So there is a correlation between murder and ice cream. Does this mean ice cream causes people to kill? Probably not. It freaking ridiculous to say that sports stars who have committed crime have done it becuase they play sports....but then again...how about this for a correlation?--there have been many cases of child molestation amongst Jehovah's Witnesses recently. From this I can correlate that all Jehovah's Witnesses are pedophiles and that the religion causes pedophilia. But is it true?
