I don't know why these JW witnesses evade and sometimes lie they should be on the same side as the RC. The RC is trying to make them see best practice so they won't be punished by extreme litigation when the next court case comes up. The JWs will be litigated into bankruptcy and the courts will cite the RC it will be their own fault. -

Applegate is an appropriate name however it is Applewhite. Applewhite is an expert witness she is paid in the vicinity of $10000 per day and that proves it. Applewhite is not competent as an expert witness she has misunderstood much and wasted time in this Royal commission -

Contacted by Royal Commission today
by umbertoecho infirstly, thank you to anyone who is in support of this rc.
no one has shown anything but great interest and empathy for those who were abused.. i don't know who this simonsays character is though and i find him to be very rude and ignorant.
it takes all kinds to make the world go round i suppose.. today i was contacted by a staff member of the royal commission.

It should be noted that even if survivors have been paid compensation in the past courts will after this Royal commission be able to award further compensation.
This will ensure entities not using best practice will be put out of business

What direction will the government take from the Royal Commission?
by barry ini have a friend at church that is a lawyer and he writes laws for the governments health department.. i asked him what the government will do with the directions of the royal commission?
he believes australian laws are already adequate and there will be no change in that area.
he added where we may see changes is in the area of compensation and that millions of dollars in compensation may be replaced with with tens of millions by guilty organisations.

These changes alone are enough to cause the adjustments guilty organisations need to comply with existing laws or be bankrupted out of business.
Cases from past decisions where compensation was paid will be reexamined to see if more funding should be paid to the victim. My friend was slightly sympathetic to the plight of the JW position because he wasn't familiar with the problems regarding the JW policies.

JW EXPERT WITNESS FLOORED BY COMMISSION OF INQUIRY LAWYER
by steve2 inmuch has already been written about dr monica applewhite, the expert witness hired by the jw organization.
her job was to provide "expert" testimony to the australian commission of inquiry into jehovsh's witnesses' policies and practices on child sexual abuse.
astonishingly, dr applewhite was unprepared for the inquiry lawyers' questions.

The commission as I understand it has no power to do anything else but to change the law through the government of the day.
The WT society would then be faced with large fines and compensation to victims if they failed to act on legal advice

Because there is so much on here about the royal commission I thought it would be helpful to put up the video of the original announcement of the commission by prime minister Gillard. It was not to be as it doesn't seem to work but it can be accessed on youtube. Barry
