A former Adventist I would like to point out a few inaccuracies I have read about their beliefs and practices.
One of the links given here says Adventists don't believe in a fiery hell. The statement is incorrect in that Adventists do believe in a fiery hell but do not believe in an eternal fiery hell.
'SDAs believe they are the only true religion't I think many christians believe their church is the closest to the bible and so do SDAs but SDAs still believe that the church is invisible and is made up of all those who trust in the merits of christ.
One site said SDAs don't go to war. There are at least 3 opinions on this one 1 some are conciencious objectors and don't have any part in war., the second opinion being non combatancy stand where a person will support the military but wil not carry a weapon such as hospital work and teh third position is the acceptance of a full combatant role. The church accepts all three positions.
A well known chaplain SDA is Barry Black chaplain of the US senate and was formally a chaplain and rear Admiral in the US armed forces.

May the undeserved kindness of The Lord Jesus Christ be with you!
by kneehighmiah innearly every letter written in the new testament concludes with a variation of that phrase.
since the gb is supposed to imitate the apostles why don't they conclude their letters by wishing the grace of jesus be upon us?
i think nearly every of the books written by peter paul and john concludes in this manner.

Quellycatface, You may be thinking of 'the grace' . some Anglicans say it ' May the love of God the grace of our lord jesus christ and the fellowship of the holy spirit be with you all and forever more amen.

Anglican school phobia
by Frazzled UBM inafter a long and frustrating houe search in london we finally found a place that fitted all our requirements and my wife seemed happy with and i was successful in the bidding process and had our offer accepted even though it wasn't the highest beacuse we can exchange contracts quickly and now we have lawyers working on exchanging contracts soon.
so everything is going swimmingly and then my wife demands that we go and look at a house being offered by the same agent we used to make the offer on the house we are buying.
i am like wtf, if we ask the agent to see another property they will tell the vendors for the place we are buying and they will revoke acceptance of our offer and we will be back to square one.

I went to bible study last night and our study conductor mentioned that he new of an Anglican school that had a buddist teacher that was very dogmatic about his beliefs. He would engage the class by challenging them that if they are christian they are on the wrong track. Maybe your wife should be more concerned with the buddists.

The Anglican ministers here are evanagelical and they are very good at challenging you as a christian. they are also very accepting of new people we got a great impression the first time my family attended two years ago and there is very few times we have missed services their. One problem I had with their doctrine is the Calvinist doctrine of predestination but don't take it to seriously if you don't understand at first their are many facets to it just as we can't know how God created the universe we can't know exactly how or why he saves some of us and not others. Some things we have to leave with god and trust in him.
Jgnat I thought most churches had responsive readings I used to be an SDA and they have them at the back of the hymnal but they aren't used very much. Ive also heard it said most hymns are originally Anglican and adopted by other churches and most SDA hymns are Anglican

What do Baptists believe?
by quellycatface ini'm thinking about going to church again because i'm really interested in god (today)!!.
sometimes i'm so confused and feel like there is no god, other days i do and want to try and get to know him.. i guess i'm scared because of all the bs that went on in the kh.. there is a local baptist church near me that seems nice.
i'm in the uk.

Gday quellycatface,
Just to tell you about our Anglican church in Canberra Australia. Anglican churches can be different in many ways to other Anglican churches We attend an Anglican church just down the road that is very evangelical half way through the service we have coffee and are able to chat with our friends or someone new that may walk in and there is coffee and morning tea after the service. The priests just wear ordinary clothes and are very approachable. The songs are very upbeat and many have a newer refreshing and modern versions with a band [no organ] . Be aware that traditional hymns can be very slow and dull.
The priests don't mind if baby is baptised or just dedicated and baptised as an adult.
The only traditional liturgy used is the Apostals creed, the communion service and some of the prayers.

The SDA church is very conservative but this documentry tells of three gay couples in their struggle with there faith and their homosexuality. One gay man was an SDA minister now has a partner. The younger gay man on the movie has a brother that is an SDA minister and his father is a conference president. The lesbian couple are finding they are accepted in the SDA church they attend and have as the witnesses may term priviliges. The movie can be bought online for about 10 bucks.
What a name for a movie SEVENTH GAY ADVENTISTS
