when i think back on the last 45 years of my life as a jw, it truly is remarkable.

how i as an intelligent person could have believed all of the things that the wtbts.

taught as doctrine and then for myself to teach others the same doctrine.. we could all give examples of this, however i was just sitting here drinking my coffee.

To blame the recruits for not knowing everything about the Organization is exactly how the Watchtower
would like us to think. How can one expect a “newbie” to know all the hidden details of a religion that
fails at so many of its predictions? Not possible.
Hence the WT marketing strategy of the members only Watchtower, subtlly suck them in.
If it wasn't for 1914 JW's wouldn't exist they would have been a blip on the radar of history.
I am always amazed at all the famous and intelligent people who join cults,
seems there is no rhyme or reason why some people get sucked into them.
I think maybe it's blind hope for something better.

And I feel sorry for myself for the heightened frequency of "please come back to the Truth"-calls I'll most likely receive.
Too true. I can tell when there was an assembly or co visit by the extra excitement for the "truth" that my parents exhbit afterward.
Likewise, parents have only a relatively short period of time to develop in their children heartfelt love for Jehovah.
And why is this?
Children stay children to parents forever. If a belief system is logical, beneficial, reasonable, good and true,
someone of any age will respond to it. It's when your young and inexperienced that the Watchtower wants to lock you in.
Why should parents have regular family Bible discussions?
Every parent knows the number one unspoken reason to have family bible studies.
It's to count "TIME" on the little score cards that Jehovah loves.

I think Pharoh sneezed is all.
and then he said good luck.... I think Jacob needs a stern talking to either way. ha honesty, I have a funny feeling it is dismissed by the WT along the lines of "well that was just a formal way of greeting high ranking officials or something like that." I think Jacob blessing Pharoah, would be the equivalent today of, Ted Jaracz blessing President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
