Big thing for me is I never felt good enough. Told an elder once why should I bother doing anything because the small amount I'm doing isn't good enough and I never will do enough so might as well say eff it.

Was the straw that broke the camels back, the workload?
by jambon1 ini realise that there are many reasons for people leaving the org and some are very sensitive and difficult to discuss.
but i was wondering how many people, if they really think about it, were finally broken by the sheer workload as a jw.
someone replied to my thread yesterday (page 2), and discussed the average week for most jw`s.

While working isolated territory in Rwanda last year, a Witness met a man who was very happy to receive the Knowledge book and to have a Bible study. Right from the beginning, the man showed appreciation for the congregation meetings. (Heb. 10:24, 25) Though missing one leg from the knee down, he would cross a lake in a dugout canoe and walk four hours to get to the meeting place. He attended regularly, enrolled in the Theocratic Ministry School, and helped his children to learn about their Creator. How he rejoiced in the hope that soon he would be able to walk again with both legs!—Isa. 35:6.
Someone please define soon according to JW,s.
This guy has a miserable life ahead of him.

Meeting attendance helps train those who join in the mighty chorus of praise to Jehovah. (Compare Psalm 22:22.) Thus, in the southern part of Honduras, there is a congregation called El Jordán. What is so special about this small group? It is their faithful meeting attendance. Of the 19 publishers, 12 have to cross a wide river to attend the meetings each week. This is not a big problem in the dry season, since they can cross the river by using rocks as stepping-stones. However, during the rainy season, conditions change. What was once an unimposing stretch of water becomes a torrent washing away everything in its path. To surmount this obstacle, the brothers and sisters have to be good swimmers. Before crossing, they put their meeting clothes in a tina (metal tub) and then cover it with a plastic bag. The strongest swimmer uses the tina as a buoy and leads the group across. Safe on the other side, they dry themselves, get dressed, and arrive at the Kingdom Hall cheerful and sparkling clean!—Psalm 40:9.

The Real Reason Jehovah's Witnesses Refuse Blood Transfusions
by Cameron inthe real reason why jehovahs witnesses refuse blood transfusions
jehovahs witnesses say that their refusal to accept blood transfusions is based on what the bible says about blood.
they refer to acts 15:20 where it says, "abstain from blood," and reason that transfusing blood is not abstaining from blood.. but what the bible says about blood is not the real reason why they refuse blood transfusions.

While they are teaching it is called "a true teaching of the Bible." When they stop teaching it is called "old light."
The fully brainwashed JW does not question any teaching from the WT.
It was done for a reason at that time.

Great comments, made me laugh, but I still remember sitting there hearing this BS and feeling
This is what really cracks me up. Living in a cold climate the elders cancel the meeting if there is 2 inches of snow on the ground, don't want to get a fender bender in the beamer you know. That sister in Africa if she loses a leg to the crocs she still got another one, riiiiiiiiiight.

"Will I be Saved"?
by Warlock inwhen i was about 12 years old, i used to see a religious show on sunday mornings called "amazing prophecies".
what the ministers name was, i don't remember.
at the end of the show, he asked those who wanted to be saved and have jesus come into their heart, to pray along with him, so i prayed along with him, because i wanted to be saved.. about 13 years later, i become a j.w.

If the end comes the way the Bible says it will, but we don't know exactly whose interpretation will be played out, am I saved no matter who turns out to be correct?
I think you (and me) need to drop the middleman AKA as organized religon.
Wether your saved or not is between your heart condition and Jesus judgement of you.

Cannabis vs Alchohol and Other Man Made Pharmacuticals
by OpenFireGlass inwell for starters i do have a prescription for cannabis (insomnia / depression).... why would i want to take pharmacuticals for insomnia/depression?
i mean, what if i get prescribed/addicted to a pill, that one day i might not be able to afford?
(if you/i grow cannabis it's more/less free)... now the moral issue... who is more likely to beat the shit out of their kids?

This question is asked by many different people, and for good reason. Marijuana is the most commonly used and tested for drug in the United States and several other countries as well. Marijuana is also the drug that is more likely to stay in your system for days, weeks, or even an entire month after the last time that you smoke. Therefore, even though marijuana is one of the least harmful drugs out there, it is also the most likely drug to cause you to fail a drug test.
When you ask the question “How long does marijuana stay in your system?” you need to take into account the fact that there is no simple answer to this question. Quite simply, it’s argued both that THC never leaves your brain, as well as that there are several different factors which can affect whether or not you test positive for marijuana use.

I prefer alcohol because it totally leaves your system in about 12 hours.
I don't care if other people use it matter of fact my brother in-law is always doing it around me
keeps asking if I want some. I say nine.
for those that believe in God.. Why would IT create something that we should not take advantage of?
This can be said about just about anything so I don't buy this argument. -
