The longest prayer ever ...
by Vivamus inthe memory of this just popped back into my mind.. i was at a 3 day congress, and the ending prayer was said by this really old brother.
he was one of the survivors of wo ii concentration camps were he was put for being a jw.. anyway, the poor man started his prayer with thanking jah, and then he recalled every piece and play of the three day congress.
i bet the man had written his prayer on paper and rehersed it each day adding a new 15 minutes to it ... he even mentioned a part where a witness lady replayed an incident on the street - she gave witness to by-standers - and one of the people she talked to had a stuffed dog.

She passed out during the prayer ?! Oh thats terrible, and reminds me of the time of of the sisters got an attack during the meeting.
The shocking thing for me to see was that she was taken back, waiting for the ambulance .... and the meeting went on like nothing happened.

The official "Reminisce about your most hated convomition site" thread
by B_Deserter ini cannot think of any worse place to have a convention than the pontiac silverdome.
for years my family went to south bend, indiana to avoid it.
then when south bend stopped having conventions (probably having something to do with the catholics not appreciating the brothers slamming the religion that financed, built, and hosts the lovely arena they were using), we tried madison, wisconsin for a year, before finally trudging back over to silverdome.

I disliked them all.
We had a convention once in Rotterdam Ahoy. I hated that cuz we had crappy seats, crappy audio and we needed to rent the place. I hated the renting cuz we had to donate money for it (can't rememebr I actually donated tho).
All the other conventions were held at a center the JW's owned. Near Barneveld (can't for the life of me remember what the place was called)... I hated that cuz it was a terrible long drive, and we always had a huge traffic jam on the way back home.

I remember this cuz the brother said "and thank you Yah for giving us the enjoyment of the piece with the little dog".
Halfway through the prayer I opened my eyes and peeked around me to see if every one was having trouble concentrating ... and sure enough, lots of people were shifting and opening / closing eyes etc.
How about you, ever had such a thing happening ?
