  The King James Version is Perfect

  i don't know about anybody else,but i love the beautiful king james version.it contains no error and is perfect.there are no mistranslations in it,and none can be proven.i don't read or study anything else for spirituality.im like a tree that is planted by the water,i shall not be moved,amen,amen,hallelujah,praise jesus!!!!

  the name "Jehovah" does not occur in the NT. only in some translations. but not in the sources.

  Who else is not going to the memorial for the first time this year?

  well, it's going to be the first memorial i'll miss out on.

  no big deal, but i guess it has to be considered one of the final stages of "apostasy" :-).

  i remember i used to see some df-ed people at memorials.

  i will go. and i know i will feel as bored and disgusted like last year. well no.. last year i was thinking about drinking the wine and eating the bread, as i still believed all the jesus thing. this year i'll think about eating and drinking the "symbols" just for fun. but i'll just think about it, wont do it.
  
  and they'll have the same old "if you want to know more about jehovah's witnesses" talk in the final part as always. and my stomach will turn as always.

  GENEOLOGY OF JESUS

  i was doing some research for one of my courses and i discovered that the geneology of jesus, outlined in matthew chapter 1 and luke chapter 3, are different.

  does anyone know why?

  matthew-luke contradicts enough, but when you compare both to the OT genealogies, it starts to get really funny.

  i know there are mostly ex jw's on here.

  i just wondered how many of you are ex jws, left or df'd, how many are still in but have lost heart?.

  are there any jws on here who still believe its all the truth, go to meetings and trust the organisation?.

  it's ok to disagree, but those prophecies are just not there. just ask a jew why he doesn't think jesus was the messiah.
  
  do a little more research on pseudepigraphic writings. you seem to only know very few of them. i've read that "poor quality" argument in some books about apocrypha, but if you read them for yourself, you'll find out that it's just not true.
  
  and i don't know what's the big deal about jerome. btw he said (and luther repeated) that the catholic deuterocanonica are worth reading and educational.

  i'm an atheist jw, inactive, but not missing any meetings (almost). i'm afraid i'll get health problems someday, because every time i come home from meeting my stomach hurts because of so much "spiritual food at proper time".

  Wanting to leave JWs & Spouse problems

  are you trying to fade or otherwise distance yourself from the org, but have a spouse that is a loyal jw?

  on various posts i read about some that are staying in the org, or having a difficult time because their spouse doesn't understand the change.

  i'll begin...my wife doesn't understand how i can turn my back on all the good things i've gotten from the org.

  my wife always freaks out when i say something "negative about the org". so i simply try to not talk to her about it. i can reveal a few things now and then not talking directly about the org though. but there's little chance she'd wake up. and even if she would, we couldn't leave because of the rest of the family.

  What do our handles/nicknames collectively say about us?

  i noticed a few prefixes/suffixes/concepts keep popping up in people's nicknames on this site.

  i wish i had all the subscriber names in a spreadsheet to play with it some more, but i just did a real cursory glance around and saw some interesting bits.

  notice this:prefix to handlenumber of occurrencesfree (like in "freedomfrog")35rebel 5lost 12happy 17hate 0love 14. in additon, there were 4 variations of the phrase "had enough".

  I just got access to a HUGE WT library...what do I want to get?

  my brother and his wife (still very much in) just inherited a library of wt publications dating back to the 20's.

  the best part is, it's complete with both the original watchtowers and bound volumes, in many cases there are 2 of each of the bound volumes, which i can have one of.

  i plan on doing a lot of research on here to figure out what all i need...still a "newbie" you know.

  golden ages would be great... and yes, search the quotes page. there are articles about how many errors the bible contains and i once read an article in the golden age about not going to the toilet anymore in paradise!
