14Roommate seems to have a hard time going to the meetings
by oppgirl63 inmy roommate seems to have the hardest time making it to the sunday meetings...and that's the only one she goes to anymore.
i went to wake her this morning and she didn't want to go and asked me if i would carry her service card (or whatever it's called) to the kh for her.
i told her no...i didn't want to talk to those people.

What do I do when jw wife feels down / "uninterested" in spiritial things?
by Check_Your_Premises inevery so often, say once or twice a year, my wife gets kind of down.. she goes through a period of inactivity in her jw duties.
it usually has to do with field service.
she hates field service.

Unfortunately, this is what generally happens. It can start a few months after baptism or a couple of years but the enthusiasm and joy or your new found beliefs start to crumble. Its because its all a facade !!
At first all you can think about is the new system and living forever in paradise, then you realize pretty quick what you have to pay to get it................yes, the dreaded FS. As she is in a divided home it is soooooooooooo difficult. All you can do is ask her if shes happy being a JW and if not why not ??? She wont admit it to you but she may start to admit it to herself.
I feel so sorry for her (and you) but I know what shes going through. Her drive is most properly saving the kids from the big A and getting you in the org.

need some help with letter.... this is what i got so far....help

It has been said that the witness have an authentic personality and a cult personality, lets hope your letter breaks through the cult mindset. Im trying to think back to how I would have felt if my son had written me that letter, im sure it would have touched my heart.

JW's at Holocaust Museum

while there i went to the holocaust museum.
i was sitting in the lobby area waiting for my ticket time to enter the main exhibit and doing some people watching.

Were they wearing meeting clothes or casual.
I remember going to a local museum with some witness friends and they insisted that we all wore meeting clothes. This was on a Saturday afternoon aswell

If I was Satan.........
by beginnersmind inthe dragons post about wether satan was a hypocrite got me thinking.. .
if according to gen 3:15 and the prophecy thats supposed to mean satan was going to kill jesus (brusing in the heel) and then jesus is going to destroy satan (bruising in the head) that would mean satan would know at an early stage what his life would entail right?.
if i was satan (i'm not by the way) i might have 'looked' at this and other prophecies and decided i'm not going to help fulfill them.

I thought Jesus had to die (perfect life for a perfect life) so why would Satan deliberately want to kill Jesus as this would only be playing into Gods hands? It doesnt make sense
Actually this is a really good point !!! Why would Satan even bother if Jesus had been born a man?? What would satan gain from killing Jesus. He was blamed for it in any case whether he did or didnt

I received a package from my mother today
by ex-nj-jw inmy dub mother sent me a package today, inside was a nwt bible, a picture of me around age 5 at an assembly - i looked miserable and my dad was holding a battery operated fan in front of me, and a letter, here is the letter.
i ask that you remember that i was 18 when i left and i'm now 42, that there is a total of 8 children in my family and there are only 2 that are still jw's, oh and that my mother is a complete nutcase!

I would make it public
Send it to your local newspaper, you could keep the names anonymous . The public should be made aware of how the JWs really treat people.
If it got published , id then send it to her..............
In fact i think I will send a copy of this to my JW daughter it may wake her up a bit

my brother invited me over to his place, just to hang out, watch movies, etc.
he was supposed to work until 4, so i should come by anytime after that.

I remember a situation, where a couple had the wifes mother live with them. Then the wife dies and the elders said the mother couldnt live with the son in law anymore.....................she was in her eighties Thankfully the son in law told them to .....off And they lived happily for a number of years.
Even in really religious controlled countries like Iran or Saudi Arabia, women can be with a family member.
They are just sick
