Wooden chopping board?????????

i know its a strange question and i didnt know which category to put it under but here goes........... i bought one about 2 years ago.

its about 1-1/2 thick................but i dont know how to get some stubborn stains off it.

its got yellow and orange ones at the moment (from a curry we had last night)............ive scrubbed it but to no avail.

Someone told me that wooden chopping boards have a self cleaning property, but mine doesnt look very nice, its got old grease marks on it too!

I know its somewhat clean cos I scrub it with washing up liquid a few times a day but it doesnt look good and I wonder if it really is clean.

We havent had a horrible illness yet, so it cant be that bad and I always use a special plastic board for cutting up chicken.

So any ideas or should I just throw it away?

The announcement was NOT that I was no longer one of JWs, but that I was not one of JWs. So, many had thought I was for several years, but it was determined that I had never actually corrected qualified as one of JWs. Thus the announcement. I am treated as if I were disfellowshipped or disassociated, but I am actually still in the process of properly becoming one of JWs. Whether I can actually get to become one, I don't know.

Fred, there is nothing worse than being on the outside, wanting to be in on the inside. Unfortunately, if you do become a JW and people start talking to you............ you will soon realize the organisation does not have "love among themselves". The problems you say you had will not help ! You will be avoided and have no social life. Doesnt it show from how you are being treated now by the "brothers" that it doesnt have Jehovahs spirit?

You will not recieve love, you will not recieve help, spiritually or phyiscally and it could even send you over the edge mentally. This is not Gods org.

update on my divorce situation

i'm shocked!

if you remember my experience, in a nutshell, basically my ex-bethelite ex pioneer husband cheated on me with an older "worldly woman" from his job and left me suddenly.

i had no idea that we had trouble with our marriage, however, when i discovered the love letters from the other woman, he moved out, and a week after that, i received divorce papers.

Clearly Jehovah and Jesus have no idea what they are doing, because they keep needing all these replacements for the heavenly class

You have forgotten they have to wait to see what the WT says on the matter......................the GB are in charge not Jehovah .........silly

URGENT - UK Elders (or elders wives)

i am in urgent need of a copy of a letter sent to uk elders in regard to weddings held at the kh and specific comments about the responsibilities of the brother giving the wedding talk.

i'm told this is a fairly recent letter.. we have an elder kicking up hell about innactive ones who want to come and watch the wedding.

he happens to be the one giving the talk and is acting like he has full control on this wedding.

I remember a talk given by our PO that said even if some are inactive they are still part of the congregation. Im sorry I dont know which KM it was from but it was in the last 5 years definitely

you can answer this as seriously (lt) or as inanely (buttlight) as you like!

i was reflecting having read someone's thread about blowing off non jw family that actually it would have been so much better if i had a larger family, preferably not completely jw saturated and this random train of thought led me to thinking that if i could choose i would be catholic, because then i would have a huge family, go to really nice gothic churches with lots of candles and tortured saints and be able to go to confession (instead of lt's mobile).

also the colours of the whore of babylon always were a lot more enticing to me than the mild blues and undistracting beiges of the khs.. i think we all have religions which would suit our personalities so much better.

I was telling my DH how if I would love to be catholic....................I love all that tradition and ceremony.............he wasnt impressed

Isnt that called going beyond what is written??

As for the what was written in Acts, ....................it WAS written in the bible, this new "ruling" is written in the WT.....................as for a first century GB, thats another topic.

So you would rather obey a few men in New York, whom youve never met., than obey and believe, what Paul wrote in Ephesians 4v 4--6

Now that the great crowd is in place, the ruling is that to partake indicates a Heavenly Hope, whereas an Earthly Hope is indicated by being there and just passing the emblems

Now I have a problem with this statement, first you say the ruling is...................where are the scriptures that lay down this ruling (no scripture hopping) where in context does it say by ANYONE that if you have a heavenly hope you take the emblems but if you have a earthly hope you dont? You see if you cannot direct me to specific scriptures with this rule, then its all speculation on the meaning isnt it ? And that is a very dangerous place to be.

I think these scriptures tell us exactly............Ephesians 4 v4-6

Or did you mean that the ruling is from the WT?
