  due to funkyderek i have come to the decision to leave this board.

  when i posted on the current gay thread in a way that i thought would stimulate thinking and lighten up the seriosness of the thread and have a laugh, he and others put me down publically labelling me.

  so i find it difficult now to continue posting knowing that someone has influenced others into thinking that i'm not worthy of being here because my phrasing and spelling is bad and that i'm apparently a "hyporite".

  My Congregation

  from the outside, my congregation appears to be flourishing.

  over 120 publishers, 9 elders, 7 ministerial servants, and several young ones 'progressing well' and many reaching out.

  however, from the inside, you start to see cracks within this seemingly strong congregation.

  I hope the org dies soon as well, but I wont be holding my breath

  Unfortunately, there is a huge flood of eastern europeans comming into the UK and they are being targeted now. I heard of a local Polish group doing extremely well. These poor people dont know what there getting into. They go to Britain for a better life and end up becomming JWs !

  So when do you put up your tree?

  i hope you all had a great thanksgiving..... my husband was so inspired he went up to the attic and dragged down our tree the same day (the 23)... i have been decorating for 2 days serenaded by vince geraldi's charlie brown christmas music.

  for some reason it feels extra special this year.

  perhaps because after waffling for years with the witnesses i was finally able to let go this summer after finding this site.. so when are you putting up your christmas tree?.

  I want a real tree but didnt know how long they last, can anyone tell me?

  Its tradition here to keep decorations up till the 27th of January, so I dont know if it could last that long............

  he's a cute little thing and such a good baby.

  Ah hes lovely......................and by the way they usually sleep for the first week then wake up ! How much did he weigh?

  It always amazes me, even when they are tiny, that a few hours previous they were all curled up inside your tummy

  And Rhys is pronounced by rolling the R, and rhyming it with grease..................thats the Welsh way.

  Also Dylan, is pronounced Dullan not Dillan...........but you will know that one

  Im sorry I havent trawled through all the pages but if I was threatened with being DFed and didnt want to be because of family or my reputation. I would threaten the elders that I would go to my local paper and give an interview on the life of a JW. I think they would back off if they thought you would go to the press . Just an idea.................and cheaper too.

  Or is that too simple for a plan?

  As a DUB, what did you do and hid so as not to stumble anyone?

  i was thinking of all the "concious matters" that you could do if you wanted, but would not tell anyone so you wouldn't get in "trouble".

  one thing that came to my mind is when after having my baby, i wanted to join weight watchers...there were two meeting places to choose from...one close to me and in a church....and one quite far not in a church.

  well, i went to the one in the church, always worried someone would see me(but i didn't really think it was a big deal) so, what did you all hide?

  I made my kids hide the x-files dvds and told my son not to say what he played on his play station !

  I think I was pretty liberal, I let my daughter have posters up in her room, and she played with kids in the street,had sleep overs with school friends But if you ask them I was a mad woman!

  The truth about the donation arrangement

  i never knew this...just found it today.

  made me giggle.. payment of sales tax on literatureon 17 january1990 the u.s. supreme court made a ruling that sales tax must be paid on religious literature.

  the following month, a letter from the watchtower society went out to all congregations stating that there would no longer be a set price for literature but that they would be given to the public on a donation basis.
