  hi eveyone, my sis told me something like where will i be after that day.

  i couldnt realize at first what she meant, but i found this on net donald-trump-kim-jong-un-meeting-singapore-june-12/.

  i found her reaction so pathetic, but i think she is really sorry for me leaving.. so how to do you reply to jw family or generally when news about world peace comes out?.

  I was trying to point out that you catch more flies with honey than the poison you're drinking in all of these interactions while hoping they are the ones that get sick.

  You take one comment and show yourself to be a psycho. Back your ego down and maybe you could hear others when they're trying to reach you in some way. Of course, I'm sure you're not the one that ever needs help, right? You're too busy keeping the world in check with your weak ass rants. None of us are impressed and you seem to want that desperately. I feel sorry for you. You seem so deeply unhappy though a legend in your own mind.

  Maybe it went better than expected because there was no hair pulling or anyone being cussed out or threatened. Civil conversation seems to go better in this case than some of your other threads.

  at today's wt study about child baptism, someone commented and she pointed to the picture of the little girl playing with her teddy bear.

  she said, 'she may be looking at her bear and thinking about getting to play with bears in the new system.

  her parents notice this, and they decide since it's real to her she may be ready for baptism.

  The original post hurts my stomach. I've always had such a problem with the undue influence and pressure put on these kids to rope them in and screw them over for the next decades of their lives and possibly for the rest of it one way or the other. Either they stay stuck in a cult because they now have too much to lose to leave so they never really allow themselves to look at the realities or they lose everyone they will come to know. The logic that one exhibits in the comment about the teddy bear is the logic that gets your dumb ass in a cult. Anything to make something fit a narrative. Ugh.

  i had never thought about this until just now when i saw that nathan natas posted some early tract from rutherford, and it made me think back to what little i could remember of the history i was taught.

  i now know that in most cases the dubs will spin stories in their favor.

  so i'm now assuming i was told some fictitious story about what happened when the leaders were thrown in prison and things looked bleak for the cult way back when.

  @Morpheus - I should also say I think you're right and that the Borg will never go away. Even if it did some other group would fill the vacuum created. People in general want and need something to believe in. I see no mechanism by which this group ever dissolves. If it didn't back then, I don't see it in the future. And lol at the shout out to SBF.

  @Morpheus - Your assertion seems to be that the trial was kind of an emotional railroading of the pre-dubs back then. The powers that be knew that they were somewhat in the wrong so they let it go.

  Could it also be that since the war was over, they simply wanted to move on to matters with more relevance that retrying a case about war postwar? The Writ would essentially cause them to start all over, going after an organization for something they could no longer be doing after such a monumental war. Was it just time to move on?

  I guess what I'm saying is that it's difficult to read intent into the decision to let it go. You may be right, as the other suggestion may be as well. Do you have anything from back then that gets to the motives of letting it go? I'd be interested in seeing writings about why they dropped it.

  Regardless, it sure doesn't seem to be the heroic time it was made out to be where they were simply being singled out and unjustly persecuted.

  Fascinating stuff. It helps to round out the narrative some. They made it seem like this was all some pointed attack specifically at them, as narcissists love to do, and of course made themselves the heroes of the story.

  So then, did they embellish their stories regarding what went down then? Obviously they embellished with prophecy, but it seems like they may have been fairly straight with their story?

  I can't remember if they claimed that it was simply government interference or if they claimed that religion was behind it.

  There weren't many followers back then so they couldn't have had much impact on raising an army.

  I honestly struggle to remember what I was taught, though I remember them tying all of the goings on into prophecy after the fact.

  So, does anyone know what the deal really was? Who was after them? Why? What happened before and after? Anybody got the scoop on that part of history?
