Darkest before the dawn
by joelbear inwell, this day started out really bad with a panic attack about 8am at my doctor's office and a dark mood that lasted all day.. it ended with me getting a job as a data base and marketing assistant with a national banking association where i get to work from home part time with full benefits while i am going to school.. thanks for always letting me voice my feelings here.
i think getting it out helps me.
maybe someday soon i won't need to do it anymore.. take care and thanks for caring about me.

Well done Joel about the new job.
Why should you worry about the need to vent to those who care.
The day we stop having feelings and emotional needs for ourselves is the day we stop caring for others.
Carry your love and feelings with pride. -

Major news and updates from Paul Kevin
The BBC in England are looking for people to come forward who are, or who have been, Jehovah's witnesses and who will tell of the abuse they have suffered by being involved with the Watchtower.
The BBC are at present researching the Watchtower and all that is currently taking place world-wide and are seriously thinking about doing a documentary some for the future. Pass this on to all the people in your address book and everyone you know who you think may be interested in speaking out.
Please visit www.welcome.to/witnesscd for more details.
Plus new write ups with all that has been going on here in the North East of England. Updates run from October/November last year to Feb 2002--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My apologies of you received this mail, (maybe twice,) but with all that is taking place, I have had no time to edit my address book. The one person who was added by mistake and who asked to be removed from the mailing list at the last update, will be removed next time. Sorry about that!
All the best from Paul & Joanne. -

Another brilliant example of circular reasoning from the wtbts
*** jv 704 31 How Chosen and Led by God ***
Chapter 31
How Chosen and Led by God
“IT IS only logical that there would be one true religion. This is in harmony with the fact that the true God is a God, ‘not of disorder, but of peace.’ (1 Corinthians 14:33) The Bible says that actually there is only ‘one faith.’ (Ephesians 4:5) Who, then, are the ones who form the body of true worshipers today? We do not hesitate to say that they are Jehovah’s Witnesses,” declares the book You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth. The sad thing is millions are still being misled by such inane reasonings.
Has anybody got any other examples? -

Why So Many False Alarms?
The World’s End—How Near?Does the failure of such predictions to come true convict as false prophets those who made them, within the meaning of Deuteronomy 18:20-22? That text reads: “The prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. And in case you should say in your heart: ‘How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken?’ when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak.”
There are some who make spectacular predictions of the world’s end to grab attention and a following, but others are sincerely convinced that their proclamations are true. They are voicing expectations based on their own interpretation of some scripture text or physical event. They do not claim that their predictions are direct revelations from Jehovah and that in this sense they are prophesying in Jehovah’s name. Hence, in such cases, when their words do not come true, they should not be viewed as false prophets such as those warned against at Deuteronomy 18:20-22. In their human fallibility, they misinterpreted matters.[Footnotes]
Jehovah’s Witnesses, in their eagerness for Jesus’ second coming, have suggested dates that turned out to be incorrect. Because of this, some have called them false prophets. Never in these instances, however, did they presume to originate predictions ‘in the name of Jehovah.’ Never did they say, ‘These are the words of Jehovah.’ The Watchtower, the official journal of Jehovah’s Witnesses, has said: “We have not the gift of prophecy.” (January 1883, page 425) “Nor would we have our writings reverenced or regarded as infallible.” (December 15, 1896, page 306) The Watchtower has also said that the fact that some have Jehovah’s spirit “does not mean those now serving as Jehovah’s witnesses are inspired. It does not mean that the writings in this magazine The Watchtower are inspired and infallible and without mistakes.” (May 15, 1947, page 157) “The Watchtower does not claim to be inspired in its utterances, nor is it dogmatic.” (August 15, 1950, page 263) “The brothers preparing these publications are not infallible. Their writings are not inspired as are those of Paul and the other Bible writers. (2 Tim. 3:16) And so, at times, it has been necessary, as understanding became clearer, to correct views. (Prov. 4:18)”—February 15, 1981, page 19.ARTICLE 2
*** w72 4/1 197-8 'They Shall Know that a Prophet Was Among Them' ***
‘They Shall Know that a Prophet Was Among Them’A third way of coming to know Jehovah God is through his representatives. In ancient times he sent prophets as his special messengers. While these men foretold things to come, they also served the people by telling them of God’s will for them at that time, often also warning them of dangers and calamities. People today can view the creative works. They have at hand the Bible, but it is little read or understood. So, does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come?
IDENTIFYING THE “PROPHET”
These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet? The clergy of the so-called “Christian” nations hold themselves before the people as being the ones commissioned to speak for God. But, as pointed out in the previous issue of this magazine, they have failed God and failed as proclaimers of his kingdom by approving a man-made political organization, the League of Nations (now the United Nations), as “the political expression of the Kingdom of God on earth.”
However, Jehovah did not let the people of Christendom, as led by the clergy, go without being warned that the League was a counterfeit substitute for the real kingdom of God. He had a “prophet” to warn them. This “prophet” was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah’s Christian witnesses. They are still proclaiming a warning, and have been joined and assisted in their commissioned work by hundreds of thousands of persons who have listened to their message with belief.
Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a “prophet” of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. What does it show?Ezekiel was one of these men so used by God, and not only his prophecies, but also Ezekiel himself and his acts were pictorial of things to come.
THE “PROPHET” SPEAKS TO CHRISTENDOM
A General Convention was held by the International Bible Students at Cedar Point, Ohio, September 1-8, 1919. Thousands of Jehovah’s servants were present from the United States and Canada. There the Watch Tower Society’s president urged the fearless resumption of the work, and this with the use of the outspoken magazine entitled “The Golden Age.” In the public talk delivered on the subject “The Hope for Distressed Humanity,” the speaker declared that the Lord’s displeasure was certain to be visited upon the League of Nations,
“because the clergy—Catholic and Protestant—claiming to be God’s representatives, have abandoned his plan and endorsed the League of Nations, hailing it as a political expression of Christ’s kingdom on earth.”Thus this group of anointed followers of Jesus Christ, doing a work in Christendom paralleling Ezekiel’s work among the Jews, were manifestly the modern-day Ezekiel, the “prophet” commissioned by Jehovah to declare the good news of God’s Messianic kingdom and to give warning to Christendom.
Yes, the time must come shortly that the nations will have to know that really a “prophet” of Jehovah was among them. Actually now more than a million and a half persons are helping that collective or composite “prophet” in his preaching work and well over that number of others are studying the Bible with the “prophet” group and its companions.

Single at 40 .JW virgins.
by sleepy income on admit it, if you were brought up a witness you were dead scared that you were going to end up like the men you saw prowling the assembles and congregations looking for wives.. there would always be men and women in there 30's and 40 who had never had a boy or girl friend.. i used to know quite a few.. the horror of their lives shocks me.. now i not dissing anyone who has chosen not to marry that is their choice.but these people i know want to meet someone and get married.. but the bad news is that the older they get the harder it is to find a wife .what makes it worse is that the choice is so limited.. many of these grown men are even affraid of women .
why?.
because they are taught that even to look at a woman is to commit imorality let alone talk to one.. i knew a brother who had never had a girl friend , he was about 26 at the time.now a sister asks to go out with him so he accepts.quite soon she wants to hold his hand.. this brother now tells her off, for in the family book it says holding hands is only for people who are going to get married.. he doesn't go out with such a spiritually weak sister again.. what has the socity done to these peoples lives.. many people who were once happy teenagers hoping to meet the wife or husband of their dreams are now approaching 40 or even older and have never even had a girlfriend.theri only hope is the new system and i don't want to breack the news to them but its not coming.

Reading these comments reminded me of a pioneer sister in her late 40's who longed to get married.
She was over the moon one day to have a brother (an elder from a nearby cong) interested in her and told people that Jehovah had answered her prayers as he knew she didnt want to stay single.
What she conveniently overlooked was the fact that this brother had been widowed just a few months earlier having been married for about 30 years.
So what she was really saying was "jehovah killed his wife so I could have him"
Her experience was also used at the pioneer school and circuit assembly to show that you dont need to rush into marriage and that jehovah will provide what you need.
Does this mean that all elders should come with a goverment health warning. -
