  Bush fighting for the cause of Freedom?

  i have read some of bush's talks about fighting for freedom.

  in essence i think the term freedom as used by the president has a very very narrow application namely: democracy verses dictatorship.. do you think that bush's use of the word freedom as his reasons for invading another country, a acurate term or just more government propaganda?.

  I'm dating a JW, and need some advice!

  i'm new here, and have read a lot of topics here.

  this site has been very helpful to me in the short time i have been here.. what has drawn me here is the fact that i have been dating an active jw guy for about 9 months now (i was raised catholic, but am currently searching for a faith that i feel is right..i have yet to find it).

  we are very much in love, but our differences in beliefs have caused a lot of problems.

  "Evidence God's Kingdom is Near" - Dec 06 Awake

  the society's completely nonsensical and contradictory stance on when god's kingdom comes is really brought home in this awake!

  the dec 06 awake ("jesus - who was he") has as it's second article "the life he makes possible" (referring to jesus).

  in that article is the subheading "evidence god's kingdom is near" which reads as follows:

  Question, near 'what?' For me, I've been hearing this 'near' since the late forties. How much evidence do we need when you consider the evidence began in 1914? Hmmmm, another 71/2 years it will be one hundred years of evidence!!!!!

  Letter from a dear friend and elder.

  i had sent dale a copy of my da letter, and a personal one.

  i showed only kindness, though disgust with the organizations' moral bankruptcy and doctrinal miscues.

  yet the robotic mind sees all things in a twisted light of god/organization.

  What are the Elders thinking? What are JW's thinking?

  there was a time when most jw's solemly believed that the "end" was comming in their life time, that the preaching work was a life saving work and the most important work on earth and that the wts was god's organization, god's agency, the only channel of communication on earth.

  i think that most jws today somewhat still vagely believe that now but i wonder, what is going on in the minds and hearts of the jws today?

  Do you regret disowning your former religion?

  before converting to the jw religion, i was catholic.. the jw's made me write to the catholic church and tell them that i found the truth in the jw's, and that i didn't want to be a catholic anymore.

  i guess that most of us had to do this.. i remember writting a letter to the catholic chruch and stating verses why i thought they were wrong and why the jw's were right.. maybe i should write another letter to that catholic church and tell them that i made a mistake and that both religions are full of sh*t.. .

  What Chance Do You Think You Have?

  ok...please bare with me; i'm trying to get my thought out through a headache...lol.

  what kind of chance do you think you have with god?...meaning that if the 'meekest man' on earth pissed god off, (and i still don't really know why) so that god punished him with death before they entered the 'promised land', something that moses waited over 40 years for, what chance do you think you have?.

  i mean think of it....here's moses living his whole life around god (closer than anyone today) and god punished him...(btw...who can tell me what horrible crime he did anyway?).
