You didn't read my whole sentence. I said I'd rather be helped by JWs as they would not leave me stranded. That would mean physically as well as spiritually.

You seem to keep saying that to everyone that disagrees with you..."you can't read or didn't read." You won't make many friends here like that.
Remember me...? I was the one who said it was 'commendable' for the JW's to do what they did. I did not doubt you in the least bit. The people you talk of were good people. I was and am a 'good' person, however...I was NOT helping people in all the ways Jesus said, too. Why...?
Because, my religion would not let me. There have been umptine (sp?) articles saying it was improper to give to these 'charities' like the Red Cross, Salvation Army, United Way and others. The WT always bragged tho', when some natural disaster struck...how generous the Bros. & Sisters were to help THEIR OTHER B' & S's IN THE FAITH with aid, delivered directly by the WT -- "we take care of our own," they would say. And they did -- only their own, can you really imagine Jesus being selective like that ?
Why not just give lump sums or supplies to the different charities who would distribute them to ANYONE who needed them ?

#1.What makes you think you know all there is to know about poverty. #2. Your wife's friend has it tons better than I had it growing up. Try taking away the only income she has and then living with the rest of her problems. Thanks to some witnesses taking the time AND assistance, #3.we have pulled ourselves out of poverty. They were the only ones who NEVER looked down their noses at us in our raggety clothes. #4. Walk in my shoes before you tell me how rotten some people have it.(#'s & ______ care of Rabbit)

#1. I never said I knew 'personally' anything about poverty...I did not live that way. I did relate what a person in very unfortunate circumstances in experiencing. I have eyes, too.
#2. "Your wife's friend has it tons better than I had it growing up." And how would YOU know that ? How would I know anything about you ?
#3. You "pulled" yourself out, eh? That mean YOU had the ABILITY to help yourselves. The woman in my story -- DOES NOT ! If Witnesses helped you and you weren't a JW -- that is commendable and very unusual -- not anywhere near the 'norm'
#4. YOU are the one who said the ridiculous statement about facing your last meal and hoping it would be a JW with 'Spiritual Food' instead edible food. (para-phrased)

If I was poor and had no hope of getting my next meal anytime soon --- I'd rather be visited by a JW because I know they would not leave anyone stranded. But it still boils down to --- the preaching work is primary, as it is meant to be in religion.

W-W-hat...? Let me relate a story to ya...! My wife has a girl-friend who has all kinds of problems...from mental to physical to financial. She can barely function without help from friends and charities. She gets Govt. 'assistance' $552.00/month...out of that she pays $425 -rent, then electric and phone, water & trash. No car. She needs Taxi's & friends to bring her to her many Doctor appts. She has Dental & Vision problems not covered by Medicare...
At the end of each month she has about 3 - 4 Dollars 'left over.' !!

Ya' KNOW WHERE SHE GETS FOOD SHE CAN ACTUALLY EAT...??? huh? (yes, I am yelling!)
My wife drives her around to Catholic Charities, Mission _______and one other CHURCH CHARITY !
They also take care of her Teeth and glasses !!! FREE !!!
GUESS WHAT...? THE KINGDOM HALL IS NOT ONE OF THEM, CAUSE THEY ONLY WANT TO FEED YA' WATCHTOWERS & AWAKES ! THAT WILL HELP AN EMPTY STOMACH, HUH ?
During my 35 years in the JW's including 3 years as a full-time 100 hours/month pioneer, I never FED one person ! As a matter of fact, we were always discouraged -- even by Circuit Overseers, not to even study with "people like that," people who could not comprehend what we had to offer. After all...Jehovah would take care of them ! And of course -- we sure did not want a Bi-Polar woman with a 'lazy eye' who was on anti-psychotic drugs -- going from door-to-door -- WOULD WE ??? No telling what "they" might say !!
When she goes to THOSE church charities -- they don't ask if she's a member...they don't want to start a Bible study with them. They want to help them. Volunteers...staff these places.
I truly believe you need to be homeless or at least in a poor persons shoes, before you open your mouth again to say what you did !

Is Watchman guilty of the same "sin"?
by Schizm inas many of you likely know, the owner of the e-watchman website constantly charges the wts with having committed spiritual fornication with the united nations organization (the so-called ngo affair).
i would like to ask you all a question in order to find out your opinion as to whether or not watchman has done a near equivalent thing that he charges the wts with having done.
most of you were probably aware that watchman once advertised the e-watchman site on this site here (jw.com).

Schiz, I have only seen a little about E-watchman, some of the things he has done takes some balls, I understand he sent letters about the UN thing to thousands of congregations... This...imho, makes him sail on the same boat as the rest of us -- the WTS believes WE are the apostates, right ?
