  That Elder Mentality

  exactly what does it mean to have "an elder mentality"?

  i'm curious.

  elders didn't exist when i left the jw's.

  valis is right, elder mentality is them thinking they are elected by spirit, when its just the elders raising their hands and voting (politic free, yea right). the reality is they are elected elder by bribes, or favoritism, or maybe a little money kicker.

  truth is, most elders that don't think rationally think that they're really making a decision based on what God wants them to make, when in reality, they're just making a decision based upon man-made interpretation. its amazing, one book, so many interpretations....

  What if the scrolls were never found

  what do you think the world would be like.many people base their thinking on life by the bible ,but what if there never was one?

  would there be any kind of religion, would the world be lawless?

  would people have less of a consious?

  i personally think that all the scrolls haven't been found yet. there's some letters of paul that are referred to (mentioned in a thread a few months ago) where paul says in the previous letter, or the next letter or something to that effect. i don't think the bible is a complete set of scrolls..........

  i always wanted one, but there would be none of that you know...elders didn;t mind having shotguns to go hunting birds with, but no bb gun for you young man!.

  i've had guns all my life, since i was a little kid. my grandpa had a diesel shop w/ a few acres in the back, and one of the things that kept me entertained for HOURS was a pellet gun and a soda can. i was a deadeye =D i've also shot bigger guns and went hunting and such. i thought it was always fun.

  i always wanted my own little short bus!! but na, i was an actor in high school and always loved making people laugh. i guess its a way of getting away from my old past. so....

  good question, since they're told to be "no part of the world" and such. we will all live to see the end!! why invest in the future if you don't believe in it? why have stock if you know that you're not going to live for the benefits? blah blah blah.

  i remember finding 2 week old lottery tickets in a elders car i was working on.

  he said they must have been from the previous owner.

  he owned the car for over a year and a half and the lottery tickets were just a little over two weeks old.

  elders live a life just like anyone else. they do the exact same things we do, they just condone it. but one elder, if i ever see him looking at my g/f the way he did, WILL get a thump on the head..........

  Lap Dancing

  a friend of mine gave me a free ticket to a lap dance club tonight, and ive just got back from there.

  its the first time i've ever been to one so i was intrigued as to what it was all about.

  after going there i dont know what to make of it.

  i have been fading since the middle of last year.

  if it wasn't for my wife being a devoted dub, i probably would not go to the meetings.

  i go to around 65%-75% of the meetings.

  lol, if governor george dubya does good in this next election, maybe we'll think about electing him president (robin williams) =D ya, he's still governor bush in most ppl's eyes.... and imallgrowedup is right, maybe you should go to a shrink. they are helpful. i've thought about going to one lately, maybe he can make me feel like i'm fishing when i'm at meeting or something..... yea, fishing, mmmmmmmm.
