You would think so, but I'm not willing to disrupt the relationship with the rest of my JW family by calling the WT and asking why they don't do this.

boomboom car stereos...
by DanTheMan ini live in klumbus ohio, in a neighborhood that ain't da hood but it ain't the 'burbs either.. it seems that if you are a male under 25 in my area and you don't have a 10,000 watt car stereo that shakes the whole neighborhood, well, you're nothing.. i don't get hip-hop culture.
i think that it is a screaming commentary on the cultural rot in the usa.. could someone comfort me or help explain the appeal of this pervasive sub-culture?
the depravity of it all makes me feel so hopeless sometimes.. maybe i'm a little too narrowly caucasian in my outlook.

Them darn kids and their rock'n'roll music!!!!!!!!
You lot are aging yourselves. Hip Hop happens to be the most popular of music genres among teenagers and twenty-somethings. Similar comments have been made about other genres as they had their time in the spotlight of popularity...Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, RockNRoll, Modern Jazz, Swing/Hard Bop, etc. Every genre has some great music....and a lot of crap.

The Myth of Unconditional Love
by Oroborus21 in(or why god is a behaviourist) .
many well-meaning persons believe that the ideal state of love and relationship between two persons is one that is unconditional.
this is simply referred to as unconditional love and what is meant by a person subscribing to this belief is simply that: no conditions are attached to my loving you wholly.

Amazing,
That was a very nice post, but I do disagree.
Rather, the argument that love cannot be unconditional is a MYTH.
The love you described for your children does have a condition. The condition needed for the extent of love you described is them being your offspring. If that biological tie did not exist (coupled with the fact that you have poured your life into raising them), then I would imagine your love might be different. And about your wife, that too has conditions. The major condition would be reciprocation. What if your wife just detested and hated you? What if she hated you so much (please do not take offense) that she was admittedly unfaithfull, even right before your eyes? Do you think you would continue to love her in the same fashion? Or do you think there is a possibility that you would leave the relationship and learn to stop loving her and maybe even love someone else? It would be easy to answer this with "Yes, I would still have love for her in my heart" but we are talking about the expression or showing of unconditional love. I think the act of showing love is always conditional (we can say we love everyone unconditionally, but showing it is different.)
I think the reason why this topic pops up is because of the claim that JW's love is competely conditional. I agree with this, but I also think that so is everyone else's. The JW's may have a higher level of conditions than others, but I think that would be expected from a group that also enforces stricter morals than most.

Hey Columbo,
I never called anyone a "LIAR", so you must not be a very good detective afterall. But thanks for the well wishing!
And I'm actually glad that I bore you, maybe you will stop your pointless ranting now.
Bye bye!
Plmkrzy - When I was at Bethel, it seemed that all the GB lived there. I would be surprised if they had private homes that they own, and if they did, I would be surprised if they were anything but modest. The reason why I think this is because that would be too easy to be criticized about. But then again, what do I know?

The NWT is a theologically biased translation. It was translated by people that have remained anonymous. THe reason for their anonimity is not to keep God's word in the sotlight, but rather to hide their lack of credentials from scholars.
Aren't all Bible translation's theologically biased? The fact that the translator follows a given theology would make him biased. So unless there are translations by non-religious translators...

Good post. "Unconditional Love" seems to almost be a buzz word that people have not really thought about, they just throw it around.

WHAT'S THE WORSE THING YOU DID AT THE MEETING?
by Mary ini would have to say the worst (aka: funniest) thing i ever did at a meeting was when i sat with the circuit overseer and his wife (many moons ago......) .
anyway, he was really prim and proper and she was of course, a very submissive wife who barely spoke without her husbands permission.
anyway, he goes to the platform and starts off by asking th audience: who was ahab?

i was 12 yrs old and had the priveledge of passing the microphone.it was on a thursday night service meeting and this older sister raised her hand and the other guy passing the mic got to her first i wisperd shit and the mic picked it up boy was my ass blue trhat nite
That has to be the funniest! I was always a good kid at the meeting, but once when I was in my early twenties, my friend was saying the prayer...he got to one of those awkward silences where he couldn't think of what to say and I started busting up. Had to walk out because I couldn't stop laughing.

I have no idea because that information is not disclosed. Unless someone on this list has some insider information, I don't think you will find that fact out. Which is why I am against spouting off inaccurate statements like "WT OWNS 50% OF A BOMB PARTS FACTORY." Are we done yet?
Edited to add:
I don't believe they own any of Reg Tech...I think you may have mixed up your company names. They own part of Rand Cam Engine Corp. Rand Cam is in a partnership with Reg Tech, and together they own Rand Energy Group (REGI.) Now we're done. The End.

I agree with ThiChi. Their message being beside the point, if they are required to have a permit to go door to door, that would mean I can't even go to the houses on my street to organize a community event. It is my personal opinion that if someone is that opposed to people coming on their property, they should have a gate and a no trespassing sign.
