the sickening 'joyride' of the dubs will no doubt peak again soon ... they find great excitement in the extreme sport of current affairs ... how pitiful that they are ecstatic at the suffering of others ...

How many of us have had issues with Blood??
by lydia inhow many of us have had a problem with the blood issue when you were a dub??
what help were the elders in the cong?.
are you still opposed to taking blood??

hi lydia - i had 'rumbling' problems - unease grew over the years - my da letter had the following paragraph in it :
"However, issues have been emerging for me for a while now that have caused me concern. These include further changes and ‘new understandings’ relating to the use of blood products and another, although relatively minor, the appropriateness of voting in political elections. The arguments delivered through ‘Questions from readers’ and set out in long complex explanations remind me of Matt 23:24 which reads ‘who strain out the gnat but gulp down the camel.’ Especially as, reading between the lines, these changes are being brought about by what appears to me as political manoeuvering rather than spiritual enlightenment."

On the News last nite....Muslim madness
by VioletAnai inat west end, brisbane, queensland, australia, a mad muslim man has been arguing with a christian pastor in the streets over the pastors preaching.
yesterday was too much for him....the muslim went up to him after much pleading from friends not to do so, and set fire to the pastor.
his reason?

ok so there's crazy people in all countries, all walks of life, all religions ... happens that muslims are getting noticed a lot right now - after the terror of last year - and often, when we hear of extreme muslims - their actions appear to be religiously motivated - what of 'xians' ? are all rapists who happen to be xian acting out their religion ? or murderers ? ... i dunno - we just need to be tolerant of labelling people because they happen to be of a certain religious persuasion ...

Ha ha! This is a con!
by ozziepost inthe april 1st issue of the watchtower invites those who have some 'serious concealed sin' to report to the "loving christian elders".. it reminds the r&f that they (the elders) "will not treat lightly your desire to experience the restoration of a good relationship with your heavenly father".
oh yeah?
we all know that this is code for a judicial committee.

Reasons Sir Cliff Richard never became a JW
by alliwannadoislive insir cliff richard is one of the singers universally loved by the 40+ generation (certainly here in the uk) ... that is unless that 40+er is one of jehovahs witnesses.. doubtless there are some jws who do enjoy cliffs music, but i have always been surprised by the widespread dislike of him within the jw community.. this is in stark contrast to the widespread love for his former band - the shadows - the presence of one of their cds being a feature in a very high percentage of british jw homes.. reason quoted to me.
when i first came into the truthtm in the early 80s, it was explained to me that cliff had connections with jws (if i remember right - his mother and sister were baptised).. cliff had shown an interest in the truthtm, had a bible study with hank and had been to many meetings.
he had allegedly been spotted at one of our districts conventions at twickenham, walking around in a bright pink suit.

hmm ... so is the pattern here something along the lines of traditional JW thinking - hate Cliff - love Shadows ... (with exceptions ozzie ;)
i have to say i hate the music of both Cliff and the Shadows ...

Sir Cliff Richard is one of the singers universally loved by the 40+ generation (certainly here in the UK) … that is unless that 40+er is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Doubtless there are some JWs who do enjoy Cliff’s music, but I have always been surprised by the widespread dislike of him within the JW community.
This is in stark contrast to the widespread love for his former band - The Shadows - the presence of one of their CDs being a feature in a very high percentage of British JW homes.
Reason quoted to me
When I first came into ‘The Truth™’ in the early 80s, It was explained to me that Cliff had connections with JWs (If I remember right - his mother and sister were baptised).
Cliff had shown an interest in ‘The Truth™’, had a bible study with Hank and had been to many meetings.
He had allegedly been spotted at one of our district’s conventions at Twickenham, walking around in a bright pink suit. Apparently, nobody was star-struck, he was treated as a regular guy and no fuss was made of him.
The narrative went on about how Cliff was allegedly peeved by this and stormed off out of ‘The Truth™’ in protest.
Because of his rejection of ‘The Truth™’ and him allegedly ‘thinking too much of himself’, he was considered an object of scorn by ‘true christians’.
Load of nonsense ?
Anyway - to my questions:
1 - Is this just a local thing to Hampshire or are you aware of similar rumours and reasons ?
2 - Am I right in thinking that Cliff has in fact been ‘marked’ ?
Ok - I know this post is fluff, but we can’t all be heavily serious …
(alliwannadoislive is a freshly disassociated and now X-JW, he lives in a veritable spiritual paradise without the personality pollution of dubs around him)
