ROGER WATERS lyrics - "5.06 AM (Every Strangers Eyes)" |
Hello...you wanna cup of coffee? I'm sorry, would you like a cup of coffee? Ok you take cream and sugar? In truck stops and hamburger joints In Cadillac limousines In the company of has-beens And bent-backs and sleeping forms On pavement steps In libraries and railway stations In books and banks In the pages of history In suicidal cavalry attacks I recognise... Myself in every stranger's eyes And now from where I stand Upon this hill I plundered from the pool I look around, I search the skies I shade my eyes, so nearly blind And I see signs of half remembered days I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways I recognise... The hope you kindle in your eyes It's oh so easy now As we lie here in the dark Nothing interferes it's obvious How to beat the tears That threaten to snuff out The spark of our love |

Were You On The Same Wave Length As The Others In The Hall???
by minimus incan you get in trouble for playing chess, having a very large gathering, going to a pg13 movie, etc.??????
so many answers amounted to this----as the answer-----"you just know better, that's all".
"mature ones" just "knew" without asking whether something was right or wrong, doable or not.

Remember when you ran away
And I got on my knees
And begged you not to leave
Because I'd go berserk?
Well. . .
You left me anyhow
And then the days got worse and worse
And now you see I've gone
Completely out of my mind
And. . .
They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!
You thought it was a joke
And so you laughed
You laughed when I had said
That losing you would make me flip my lid
Right. . .
You know you laughed, I heard you laugh
You laughed, you laughed and laughed
And then you left
But now you know I'm utterly mad!
And. . .
They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the happy home
With trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!
I cooked your food
I cleaned your house
And this is how you pay me back
For all my kind, unselfish loving deeds?!!
Hah. . .
Well you just wait
They'll find you yet
And when they do they'll
Put you in the ASPCA, you mangy mutt!
And. . .
They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!
To the happy home
With trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

Independence
by pimpster inas i contemplate the meaning of my past life and the life i have today, i am forever realizing the meaning of the word independence.
for it is not some description found in a dictionary of what it means to be let loose or alone from control.
it is not some title to a holiday or meaning from a historical event.

Freedom from within; independence from our past insanity; the looking behind and being able to say, I can go on from here.
I wish you as peaceful a journey in your quest as you can acquire. Welcome after having come from behind the curtain, I hope that you enjoy your stay.

Worldlings call it "self-pleasuring" now GentlyFeral
Well that's really politcally correct. I never did get the abuse aspect of it. Words and the power behind them. Amazing!!!

I try to keep myself open to all types of music, though R&B is what I was raised on, I became exposed to other types of music by becoming a musician.
I have a natural propensity for rock music such as Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Crowded House, Tears for Fears, even Boy George, but I listen to anything that sounds good musically, or things that may strike a chord with me lyrically. Even the crungiest song can have a good effect on me if the lyrics are able to get me to think.
I also get a chance to see how the other side of life feels for others not of my gender or ethnic persuasion, we all have a voice and that voice is so well crafted thru music of everyone.

Well, woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand.
Whose wine? What wine? Where the hell did I dine?
Must have been a dream I don't believe where I've been.
Come on, let's do it again.
Do you...you, feel like I do?
How'd ya feel?
Do you...you, feel like I do?
My friend got busted, just the other day.
They said,"Don't walk, don't walk, don't walk away."
Drove him to a taxi, bent the boot, hit the bag.
Had to play some music, wonder why's he [brag or drag].
Do you...you, feel like I do?
How'd ya [turns from mic, can't catch it]?
Do you...you, feel like I...
[1st guitar solo]
Do you...you, feel like I do?
Yes ya do.
Do you...you, feel like I do?
Champagne for breakfast and a Sherman in my hand.
Peached up, Peached Ale, never fails.
Must have been a dream I don't believe where I've been.
Come on, let's do it again.
Do you...you, feel like I do?
How'd ya feel?
Do you...you, feel like I... -

Not familliar with Curtis Hairston, and I have seen CK perform live, but that was in the late 70's when I lived an entirely different life than now. They had the nerve to have dance concerts at what then was called the Spectrum in Philly.
If I remember correctly, brother Grahm was performing that night as well, it was a miniature disaster as Ms Khan had to come out of herself and just relate to everyone how stupid and foolish we all were once the fights started, and once someone got to running, it had a tendency to create a domino effect, one runs and the entire sea of humanity runs. Gang violence had not quite dissapated yet and we all were kinda' paranoid about being shot, or shot at, refer was also quite prevalent during those days as well, which can make anyone back in those days paranoid to begin with.
Can you still smoke weed in a public place like a concert hall anymore?
I have seen her perform live on Saturday Night Live and to say the least, I was truly dissapointed, she does outstanding in a studio, but I don't know what's missing when she gets on stage.
Gotta' Love Her Tho!!!

Gil Scott Heron, Donald Byrd and the Blackbyrds, The Last Poets, Ice Cube, Ice Tee, Public Enemy, Sarah Mc Glaucklin ( uncertain as to spelling last name) The eye of the Angel, melts my center soul, I Too Despise Kenny G., that's got to be the most irritating saxophone player in history, why you do that ? what is that thing you do back and forth with the notes?, you stop that,.......
Dianne Reeves, Brenda Russell, Barabara Striesand ( though I'll never admit to owning any of her albums ) Old Blue Eyes is becoming a true favorite as I reach out to that nostalgic time in history when things seemed a little simpler, Breakwater, The Ohio Players,( Player's Classic...Sweet Sticky Thing!!! )uhhhmmm!, Bootsie's Rubber Band, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Confunksion, Pleasure, Tower of Power, Chic, ahhhhhh Freak Out!Heatwave," Posin till Closin ", Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, did I say Chaka Khan? "What am I Missing?"
Travis Tritt, Randy Travis, The Eagles, Don Henley, Stanley Clarke, Joyce Kennedy, who did " Stronger Than Before as did Chaka Khan ", Switch, Debarge, AC/DC, Live, Foreigner, ZZ Top,
Stevie Ray Vaughn, was a Voodo Child !!!, literally yall," May I Have a Talk With You? ", energy and mastery over his instrument, there will never, ever be another guitarist like him period. Ever.
Van Halen before the Titanic disaster. " Top Jimmy ", " Hot for Teacher ", " Jamie's Crying ", " Ice Cream Man " " I'll Wait ", " Running With the Devil "
I could go on but I think I've made my case so far.
