Almost impossible to not be entertained by what Jehovah hates. We are not to love this world or the things in it. Makes for being a witness or anyone else trying to please God a very delicate walk. I've thrown away thousands of dollars worth of CD's, Videos and the like before. Their admonition is not entirely wrong. I agree that the viewing of questionable material should be avoided.

Waking Up From a 34 Year Slumber.
by alg1052 injuly 11, 2011 will be 34 years since i was baptised as one of jw's.
the sleeping pill i took was in the form of them providing the information that made the bible come alive with the truth and insisting that they go by the bible not adding or taking away from it.
i had negative experiences from local brothers from time to time, however i excused them as part of being imperfect.

the preachers, they present themselves in such a light.
even if their ideology may be incorrect, their goodness seems to just over flow.

I see the ones from the church and how they conduct themselves, they're holy, righteous, pure. The preachers, they present themselves in such a light. Even if their ideology may be incorrect, their goodness seems to just over flow. As witnesses, we knew we were right. Our doctrines and beliefs were flawless. We could look down the nose of those who went to church and judge them as hypocrites, liars, false prophets and teachers of lies.
When I went to church, however, I could see were the congregation knew they were flawed. They knew they had issues in life that demanded being faced. They were humble. They didn't have it so all together. They recognised thier brokeness before an Almighty God. They acknowledged their sinfulness in a very darkened world. They would cry out in the middle of the congregation. A wave of the spirit of God seemed so present there. They did not try and make like they were so clean and odor free regarding their walk in the world.
I've found them to be more in contact with God and His Christ than many a JW I've met as to yet.

The Other Sheep are not the remaing ones, not of the 144,00, but are Gentiles who were to become a part of The Church of God. That is my biggest problem with the WTBTS. That is just an out right fabrication of scripture.

I've been told they are a particular lighter shade of brown. Nothing drastic, but just a shade or two lighter than the norm. Many women tell me they always remember me because of them. Though time passes and the body changes from year to year, they tell me, my eyes always cause them to remember me.

Good Advice?
by sizemik inone day i hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.
we were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.
my taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!

Do You Think You Would Be Terribly Missed If You Died?
by minimus inlately, i have noticed that many suddenly have died or as it is usually expressed, died "unexpectedly" in the local obituaries.. i have come to know of many young people suddenly deciding to kill themselves for whatever reasons.
most that i have known about had either financial or personal issues and sadly, they just gave up.. i wonder if we were suddenly gone, would people take notice?.....
