I mean to be prick a'ight, but some of us do have things to do!!!
*annoyingly tapping finger on the table, waiting, still waiting, looking at watch, yada/yada/yayda...*
most of my problems in life stem from the day that as a seven year old that my uncle persuaded me that hitler had a daughter called linda who lived in hamburg.
linda hitler he informed me with a wild-eyed whisper lived on schopenstehl strasse and was a rather plain-looking young girl who worked at a pastry chef in one of the more up-market hotels that had survived an apocalypse of bombing during wwii.. .
well, it was not actually the process of persuasion that convinced me of the existence of ms. linda hitler, after all i was seven and he was thirty something, but it was his fervor that did it.. .

have you ever watched a movie where, when the monster jumps out, the woman grunts and the man screams?.
have you ever walked a forest trail where, when you accidently step on a big old slug, the woman says "cool!
" and the guy goes "icky-poo!!".
(except when Im in bed and the one doing the screaming!) Shsssh, don't tell anyone.Doh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you just enjoy holding people in a state of suspended animation, I mean, I know it's a Saturday and all that, but, don't you think we would like to get on with our meager little lives? You have everyones attention, Okay? Shall We Dance Now, or What?
*mad crazy simpleminded foolish respect*

the wts & its various corporations are a behemoth, rudderless ship with no one at the helm; only concerned with self-preservation.
the result is an inflexible organization slow to make change and not interested in the welfare & rights of individual members.. the internet and boards such as this allow for excellent communication and freedom of information.. because the internet is free and provides relative anonymity it has proven to be one of the greatest threats to the wts.. the wts leaders could be proactive and act in an ethical way, but they'd rather react when a perceived "threat" arises -- telling members to avoid the internet, shun family members, do more/stay busy, and so on.. as jt used to say, "i love this 'net thang".

Common sense would seem to indicate that as soon as you put out a ban or prohibition on something, the first thing people do is rush right to the source of what was warned about, kinda' like alcohol was banned during the early 1900's, as soon as you say, " Don't do that! ", human nature rushes in like gangbusters to go out and do "JUST THAT"
it's sad but it's true, when an artists death occurs, they often become more famous post humously ( after they've died ), than the fame they experienced when they were alive.
two that immediately come to mind for me are,
a. stevie ray vaughn (legendary blues guitarist)

b. Alice in Chains lead singer Layne Staley
Not until their deaths, and all the fanfare surrounding them did I come to realize how talented these artist were.
Who are some of yours? They could be actors, singers, muscians, rappers, and yes even painters.
Go ahead, Indulge me, please.

i've been apart of all your stories......been lurking here since 03. you all have helped me in many ways .....i feel like i'm stepping out of the little puddle and am looking at a big ocean....so it is sink or swim for my life back.....and by reading here i feel like i am safe.....though a bit scarey!
Welcome home Shania, or at least it will be for you in a minute. I felt outta' da loop at first, too. The water's always cold when you first jump in, but before you know it, you'll stop shivering and become so comfortable here, you'll be running to jump in the pool, every chance you get.
