as far as i'm concerned, a "non believer" is one that doesn't believe in god.. as for the jw's, a non believer is someone that doesn't believe 100% of what the watchtower says, no matter if there were flip flops on many subjects.. i find it insulting when a jw will consider a member of another religion that prays ,and who may devote lots of time helping people, like jesus said to do, and still be branded a "non believer", no better nor worse than the worst scum of society that may be in jail for murder..

I should probably point out that quite a few of us are atheists here. You may not realize it, but some of we nonbelievers may take your comments as an insult. You know?

On the other hand many of us here are not athiests and find it insulting that athiests want to eliminate all mention of our faith that there is a god, IMHO

Getting cut out of Mom and Dad's will

have any of you experienced this yet....being cut out of your jw mom and dad's will?

i posted the following on another thread.

because of one instance that i heard about last year from a friend of mine, i am concerned that this may be something the society is encouraging and may encourage even more as the new private issue of the wt begins to be released.

I know that when I was divorced by my first wife and was on the outs with her AND the kids that it wasn’t long before an elder suggested that I leave everything to the Society. I told him to go jump as I found it unconceivable to leave what I had to an organization when I still loved my children.

I’m certain that the “flood of Noah’s day” did not cover over every thing on the earth. There is ample evidence that an earth wide flood did occur and devastated coastal regions over the whole globe. The argument (which I buy) is that the entire earthly region that was populated by men was covered over and this accomplished God’s purpose of destroying wicked mankind. What Noah did was save the animals in this region. Obviously he didn’t travel to Australia to rescue the kangaroos or to the Artic to save the Polar Bears. No need to since these animals lives were not threatened.

While those cases may be in the past, most places don't have a Statute of Limitations anymore

Problem is that if the crime took place before the statute of Limitations was done away with then it is grandfathered into the previous statute of limitations law and can't be prosecuted.

Are the JW's the only ones not to celebrate Christ's resurrection?

are the jw's the only christian religion that doesn't celebrate christ's resurrection?.

this puts them on the same side as unbelievers, who also don't celebrate christ's resurrection..

Let’s be fair. JWs do believe in the resurrection of Christ. Also Jesus’ command was to memorialize his death, which replaced the Jewish Passover celebration. It's OK to slam em for things they don't have a leg to stand on but let's not stoop down to their level.

this statement was often echeod to me during my formative years.

i remember my very first day of elementary school (stateside) at the age of 4. my parents were flustered because they couldn't believe they actually had to start their only child into public school to begin with; after all, the end was right around the corner!

this was 1984, the year the first apple mac was introduced, 80's music was loud and in your face, the delorean was cool, and miami vice was just in production.

I remember being told this about my kids, that they would not finish school in this system of things. Now my oldest grandkids will graduate frim HS soon. One of my grandsons is even talking about college.

during many of my discussions with my parents about the wt and what i feel about their book publishing company, my mother loves to hurl the word 'bitter!
