I'll respond in more detail to your post on Thursday. That 1935 date is very interesting. Please show me from the bible, where it says the "cut off date" for entry into heaven was 1935? If you can I'll believe you. Also, how many JW's approximately, do you think make up the 144,000 in heaven. Obviously you won't know exactly but do you think maybe half of the 144,000 are JW's, considering the number of JW's who were around until 1935?

Gumby, considering the WTS well documented and easily proveable history of false prophecies, such as 1874, 1914, 1975, 1925, (supposed return of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), do yo think that maybe there is just that slightest possible chance they could have misheard "God's" voice about 1935? Where is a prophecy in scripture that points to "Judge" Rutherford being the one who would receive such a prophecy?

Actually, the 144,000 was born out of numerical necessity NOT bible doctrine. The WTS had a problem in the early 1900's and they knew it. Their original teaching was that ALL JW's would make up the rest of the 144,000 and that was it, the world would end. But after the 1925 prophecy of Armageddon failed, and despite this numbers grew, what would the WTS do with new converts if heaven was FULL.?

What hope would someone have if the "no vacancy" sign was in front of heaven? Where would they go?How would the WTS solve this problem? I know what, let's grab one text from here, another from there and hey, we have a new doctrine! Suddenly the "judge" revealed "new light" that there is still hope, but it's now on earth. Ever since Rutherford announced that deceptive lie in 1935, all JW's have been robbed of eternal life with Jesus Christ.

Seems funny that over a 1900 year period, only 144,00 were born again out of all the countless millions in history and "MOST" of these are JW's.

Hello All,

Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone. I'm not an ex-JW, but have been born again since 1988, and live in Brisbane, Australia. Lately I have been debating on beliefnet.com with JW's but there don't seem to be enough JW's who like to really go for a strong debate except for one guy Heinz Schmidt, who runs bible.ca.tc. How many current JW's use this forum? I love to share the good news with JW's at every opportunity, ever since that first knock on the door in 1989!

I am always interested to hear testimonials from ex-JW's. What are the key things that made you leave or start to question the org? How did family and friends react?
