How about the other uses for Coke? Someone already mentioned how meat dissolves in Coke...Did you ever do the experiment with a nail? Coke will eat right through it. Its uses as a cleaner are remarkable. Pour a little over your car battery terminals to get rid of the acid build up. Pour some on your garage floor, scrub a little, and then mop it up. Does wonders. I'll drink a 12oz soda maybe once a week. My main drinks are: water, [iced]tea made with Celestial Seasonings - not Lipton, wine, beer, and homemade mojitos.

Supposing The WT DOES Monitor This Site..
by Englishman inhow can those doing the monitoring not be affected by what they read here?.
how can anyone not be affected by the paedophilia scandal, the un scandal, the 1975 debacle?.
how do they find someone to read here and still stay a jw?.

just because people are DFd for posting her doesn't necessarily prove that the WTS monitors this site on a continual basis. It could have been local elders who did the snooping and caught the "apostates" in action.
Without going into further details, the WTS were the ones who "caught" me. And without giving out too much info, certain web logs showed an "ns.watchtower.org" browsing through a certain website and then almost immediately followed by an Anonymizer user. I wish I could elaborate a little more, but I still need for this to be kept under wraps.
I bet the WTS goon who was responsible for tracking me got a nice little pat on the back for breaking my cover.

If anybody doubts that this Board is monitored, they need only look as far as Just2Laws and Joyzabel who when disfellowshipped, were I understand presented with incriminating evidence taken from the very board as 'witnesses' against them.
It's a fact jack. When I was df'd, the elders handed me printouts from this site and others asking me if I went by the name such-and-such. Those printouts came via mail from Brooklyn in a large green and white envelope. When I briefly flipped through the pages, I noticed at the bottom of each one that they used Anonymizer. The URL was printed at the bottom of each page and included the Anonymizer obfuscated link.
It doesn't matter what someone wants to believe, but the fact is they DO monitor this site and will go to any lengths necessary to be rid of the troublemakers.

Does "Loyalty" work both ways in the Org?
by JH inas jw's we are asked to be "loyal" to the organization.
all this means is, say "yes" to everything they ask, and believe everything they teach without questioning.. how about the jw organization, are they loyal to their members?
if a brother of sister falls sick, loses a job, becomes invalid, will the jw organization show loyalty to that person and help out?

That being said, this is a common phenomenon in heirarchical structures - corporations, big business, bureaucracies.
I would slightly disagree with this. As with most corporations, they provide or cover the majority of your healthcare expenses. Most also provide a 50-100% match on 401k contributions up to a certain percentage that you put aside. There are many other benefits that businesses provide for their employees...that helps keep them HAPPY. Now unlike the WTS, they pay their volunteers nothing, provide absolutely no benefits, and demand full cooperation with no union representation.
The number one item that businesses keep in mind is: Employee Satisfaction. Without this, they know that employees will steal, cheat on their timesheets, waste time surfing the web, etc. etc. True, there are a few bad apples that will take advantage of these no-no's anyways, but if the overall organization is kept happy, the employees are more productive and hence will want to stay with the company.
So for any witness that wants to stay with the WTS, ask yourself why? What are the benefits they receive? There is only one: The Golden Carrot. The Paradise. Too bad every witness living today will never live to see it.

He says his victory means he can bring forth more evidence about the crucial treatment decisions made in Bethany's case, her final days, and expose the fact that his daughter did not really accept she must not have transfusions.
This is news to me. I hadn't heard about this "fact" before now. If he can prove this point, then what about the whole deal of Bethany becoming a "mature minor?" I thought Bethany wanted this status -- or was it coached upon her by the HLC and her mother?
If Lawrence can prove beyond a doubt that Bethany was willing to undergo the transfusions, then ALL of the defendants in this case are in deep doo-doo.
Mungo ----
Robbed her of a peaceful death?? How about a father trying to do what is in the best interests of his daughter, namely, TO KEEP HER ALIVE. For any parent to simply give up on pertinent healthcare for their child due to an extremely hazy doctrine which cannot be defended by any witness, is utterly ridiculous. If the blood doctrine(as interpreted by the governing body) is not defendable, then why abide by it as if it were formulated by God himself? Everyone, except Bethany's father, simply followed some old men's ideas that have evolved over time to keep pace with governments across the world. It's all about appearances, not biblical instructions.

I'm sure the dems are wondering why these tapes didn't appear a little sooner than now. They surely would have destroyed dubya's image with the ol' church goin' folks. If they would have come out prior to Nov., the entire world would be in a tizzy and outraged. But now since dubya is a sitting duck, this will all be forgotten in due time. "What's the point, eh?"

I tried several "mattresses" before settling on a Tempurpedic. It was tough to get used to for the first two or three nights, but now it's heaven. My old mattress was kinda like yours - springs giving way, starting to sag in the middle. The ONLY thing I don't like about the tempurpedic is when you change positions. It takes a few seconds to 'fit' to your body. I was just used to having the old one feel the same when you rolled over. It really does feel like you are sleeping on a fluffy cloud - no pressure points on your body.

192kbps is the lowest rate that can be comparable to playing back a store bought CD on your home system. Anything higher and you are using up more disk space....unless you plan on converting it to other formats over and over.
