i've just read in another thread that due to circumstances the secret santa for this year hasn't been able to happen, so i want to try and organise another one!.
according to the lady at the post office, the closing date for international mail to be delivered before xmas is this week, but for post on the same continent we still have a few weeks so i'll try and take that into account so everyone can have their prezzy before christmas day.
if everyone who wants to join in can pm or email me at [email protected] with their details before 12noon sunday 30th november(uk time), i'll try and get the details back to you by sunday night.

i tend to believe that god does hear prayers, he can ansure them in other planes of time that we don't understand and that we will be in latter in our life or possibly in some other dimension.
i do not think he gives us dead air space after we speak to him.
our request have far reaching implications for us beyond what can understand in our time line that we are living presently.
I have not given up on praying. I just have not found a way that I am comfortable to do so. But I do feel in my heart that God knows what is in it and is patient with me and merciful while I find my way.
reading through everyone's posts over the last few years.
broadly speaking, it seems that most of us left the jw's for 1 of 4 main reasons:.
1. anger.. 2. disappointment.
as a higher calling, maybe a religious experience that affected them profoundly
I wish that was my case. The one thing I do believe that I was taught as a JW, is that we were created with a spiritual need. I now have a void. I can't just go to another church because I already know about the hypocrasy there. I haven't prayed since the day I chose not to be a JW any more. I want to, I just don't know how to . Fortunately I feel like God is blessing me any way. I know he understands my heart and hopefully is patient till I find the way to get to him.
I left because I simply was worn out. I decided I was sick and tired of the same old game of rules, and judgements. Tired of never being good enough. They say that our load is light when we are a JW. That is so far from the 'truth' it isn't funny.
i cant even begin to describe how angry i am at this "religion" for allowing this to continue to happen.

I am pretty angry about a lot of things myself. The only problem is, the anger is also hard on our health. Then the WTS is still controlling us in some way, controlling taking the peace away from us that we should have for leaving them.
I hope you can find some solitude and a way to deal with this. I hope I can too.
i know this is not jw related (although, "if you would like to remain standing while we read a few announcements" will be familiar to many who had to stand up while greetings were read from unknown people)...but anyway i'd like to send my greetings.
i won't have much chance to read many threads or likely respond to this one until i return.

the jw i dated hung around for 14 years before finally being baptised (i don't know how he got away with that).
i've heard that the way they treat you changes after you've signed on the dotted line, that the gloves come off and they start turning the screws.
i'd like to know if this was true for any of you and what your experiences in this area are.. thanks, little1
I was treated the same.
I remember a sister in the congregation called me and tried to pursuade me to not get baptised. I was only 15. She started crying on the phone while talking to me. She begged me not to do it, said that then Satan really goes after you and if you make a mistake you are done for..
one of the strangest things that i've seen with the "sheep" is how they would not do anything unless they heard from their elders.
especially was this so, during inclement weather.
if we were in the middle of a blizzard, we could not call off the meeting unless we heard it was confirmed by the presiding overseer, usually after he "discussed" it with some elders.
Being orginally from the midwest, I experienced a lot of snow and dangerous driving conditions. And yes, if you did not attend the meeting even if it was too dangerous to drive, you were looked down upon. The funny thing is I could remember bundling up the babies and going to the hall, only to find that hardly anyone showed up. I would sit there during the meeting thinking how the road conditions were only worsening as time went on and there we were, idiots for being out in it.
