Well, I have had a talk with my bf who recently moved in with me and we had this conversation. He said if I do not come up with a very good reason for not having a blood transfusion that he can understand and support, we are going to have some problems because he does not want to lose me and will do whatever it takes to keep me here.

Transfusions
by Santiago infor the pass two years i have been successful in quietly fading away from the org., my immediate members family are active.
recently, i overheard my father discussing the topic of the public talk and he said that the speaker mention that the secretaries of the congregation were responsible for having copies of the health directives of all the member of the congregation and that the congregation would have blood on their hand if someone died because they were force to have a blood transfusion.
has anyone else heard anything like this?

DF'ing: The "Right Kind" Of Repentance.
by Englishman in.
i've heard of judicial committees df'ing people because their repentance, although genuine, was of the wrong kind.. for years now, elders have been told to make absolutely sure that a persons abject repentance, which might include copious weeping and even hysteria, is to be of no avail if:.
they suspect that the accused's being sorry is only the fact that they are feeling sorry for themselves.. they suspect that the accused is showing sorrow only for the fact that they have been found out.. anyone else come across this?.

I know how you feel Cas, I am just out and feel like I wasted 40 yrs.. I'm very angry about losing so much of my life..
This is very true. A person may be repentant but they will still be disfellowshipped.
What kills me is that they always say they aren't in the business to kick people out, but keep people in, so if you are repentant you won't be dfd.. and when ever someone is dfd, the first thing members think "Oh, they must not have been repentant"...

I am still finding out where I stand with some friends. I lost most but a one or two I hear from a little. Only because I think they are sure this is only a temp thing and I will be back.. and by taking to me, perhaps they can get me to return. I guess I hadnt' thought of them as in terms of brothers or sisters, but more in terms of, they were my friends. The situation has changed though. Things aren't the same.

when I ended up in the hospital this year they asked me what religion I was in too. I said.. "well I grew up one of Jehovah's Witnesses' and so they asked right away if I knew what a medical directive was and if I had one. I said I knew what it was, but no didn't have one current. I did not make a stand about blood. I don't know how I feel about it. I listed SimpleSally as my emergency contact. Figured if there was trouble, we'd cross that bridge when we came to it.. I guess one of these days I need to make up my mind how I feel about some things..

Are the witnesses tight?
by stillajwexelder inare jehovah?s witnesses tight?
a presiding overseer stated that from the platform in the last 18 months.
there was a thread recently where one poster stated that at district conventions pioneers actually gave literature as a tip to the waitress at a place where they were dining -- no doubt counting their time also.

There have been parts through the years (especially near District Convention times) about giving customary tips so as not to offend (and not leaving literature), but you will always have some that do it any way.
I think as far as money goes you can find tight wadds in and out of the JWs.. although I have seen time and again some families who are bad about if they think you have a skill to do something, have you come and "be a good christian friend in the congregation to help another out" and expect at times for FREE, when they would have to pay to have it done elsewhere... There was one brother who fixed tvs for a living.. he sure didn't fix anyone elses for free (brothers or sister included) but if he needed a deck built on to his house or his car worked on, he'd be calling the mechanic in the cong or the brothers in the hall to come build this deck w/o a thought to offering to pay. Now there is nothing wrong with you help me here, I'll help you there.. but like I said.. he sure never fixed anyone's tvs for free..
