Next time it happens I'll call Nova Scotia human rights and file a complaint for being refused service due to religion.

Good Plan....At the very least it would make a good headline in the local newspaper (esp if they were informed by you)

It would make them look like a bunch of idiots and control freaks in the eyes of the community. What better X witness could there be.

I am astonished: I am not familiar with WalMart, other then it is a (rather cheep) chain stores. I never heart from the phenomenon "people greeter" but I like the idea - wish that something lika that existed here...

People Greeter is such a nice word.I am sure if I used the word door security or theft prevention watchman you would see the real purpose behind it. That is why chain stores such as Walmart would never use such words.

Do you have to be Anointed to be called a Jehovah's Witness?

in the above thread i said, ?to truely call yourself a jehovah's witness, you have to be one of the 144,000 (anointed).

truthfully you can only truely be a champion or associate.

Well I should have said that it is my theory that you have to be one of the Anointed to be technically called a Jehovah?s Witness. Is it enforced today? No. But is it still a belief of the GB?

This is what I remember learning. When Rutherford invented JW's back in 1931(?) there were less than 144,000 of them and they ALL believed they had the heavenly calling. As the numbers increased it became an embarrassment for him. He now created a new class who still had a heavenly hope but they were not true"jehovahs witnesses" I forget what the name of the class was for sure. Jonadabs ?? I think.

As time has gone by and numbers increased they slowly moved away from these teachings.They keep trying to blur the lines between the "anointed" and other sheep. I think finally with the creation of the"christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses" in 2000 they finally buried this doctrine for good. It might have never been discarded offically so it could be that deep in the background this is stilll this thought at head office that only 144000 are true JW's

The good thing about such defections is the chilling effect it has on future conversions. Many countries now have
huge numbers of ex-Witnesses or people who faded away before they actually got baptized. These people can give
warn away anyone who starts to study with Witnesses.

This is a good point also. It is not just the number of defections that is huge but the fact that more and more persons are speaking up about the "lie" that is the basis for the"truth"

For the countries that have good internet access and large deflection rates you will never again see the WT claiming any huge numbers of converts EVER AGAIN. No matter how much they beat the flock to do more it just will not happen.

The Internet easily beats "house-to-house"

last night in choir rehearsal at church, a woman asked for prayer for her family and for her daughter.

seems like her 28-year old daughter had just met and married--within 3 months--a very nice man, but who is a witness.

this lady was (to me, anyway) understandably upset.. she didn't explain the difficulties already happening within her family, but it sounds like there's already been some drama.

but the internet is able to dissolve the years of deception within months, weeks, days, or even just hours. Years ago, arguments could last forever and end up in a draw. Now, the WTS stands to lose another drone like *that.

That's what I love about the internet also. They can indoctrinate a child for their whole life since birth but as soon as they question and hit the internet...POOF gone in minutes. Gotta love it

An elder working at a Wal-Mart? Its my experience that the elders are the only ones with good jobs, seriously.

That is a good job for an elder!!! It is just like at the KH were they all mill around at the back and pretend that they are glad to see you.

Good for you H H that you took this issue up with Walmart management. He will probably try to claim some sort of religious exemption for his actions. If he continues"to stand firm for the truth"? I hope they fire his sorry ASS.

The only downside to that is at the next CA they will have a one hour part featuring "brother persecuted" He will be made to look like a hero for standing up to Satan (walmart) and standing firm in this time of the end. We all know jehovah will provide another and even better job because of his actions.

How is JWD doing ?

someone came out with the tired old claim that the site is dying, there is a mas exodus, yada yada yada.

some people would really love for that to happen, i know .... we have gone down a few places on bigboards simply because some new sites were added to it that have more posts - the sites we are ranked alongside all went down by the same amount at the same time and we've gone up against some and down against others (not that sheer post numbers matter that much).

also, a combination of optimising page caching and alexa changing how they rank things has reduced the ranking on that too ... but how are we really doing?.
