  Two Witnesses Rule hypocrisy

  isn't it interesting that if two people see someone leaving someone?s house at 5am, thus they stayed all night, that is grounds for dfing.

  yet, when a child says something happened - even if it can be verified that the person was alone with the child at the time - unless there are two witnesses to the actual crime nothing can happen in the way of dfing.

  Why do you have to "see the actual molestation" in the case of a child, but don't have to "see the actual fornication" in the case of an adult?

  You make a very good point with this arguement.The reality is that the WT makes up the rules as they go along.This has nothing to do with justice or fair play. If they want to get you they will and since fornicating is more regarded as a sin than a crime it is easy for them to DF you for it no matter what the evidence is.

  Child molestation charges on the other hand gets them involved with the legal system,lawyers and police. As you know they have always tried to duck and hide from this issue. With Bill Bowen and Silent Lambs this attitude is coming back to haunt them in a big way. I hope all the lawsuits BLEED them to death. It would be a fitting end for them.

  They are using Biblical guidelines. But these guidelines can sometimes be ignored, therefore, ignoring the guidance of the holy spirit. This is why there is an appeal process offered by the F&DS. This is to safeguard the rights that the accused has if he/she thinks the decision is not appropiate.

  I don't suppose...no could never happen that the appeal process would also ignore the guidance of the holy spirit ????

  Oh well...There is always the third appeal process..."wait on jehovah"

  new light that Alzheimer is the name of a demon?

  Many oldtimers have health problems including alzheimers and dementia.This can cause some to speak without thinking and will get them into trouble with the elders.Anything that causes a disruption in the congregation will be dealt with and the only real "tool" the elders have is the fear of DF'ing to keep people in line.Their motto has always been "unity at any cost" and the old and infirm will pay the price.

  An old brother in my congregation used to always like to talk about WW 2 and what he had been involved in.He liked to talk loudly about "the japs and the chinks" and how they had been taken care of with his help.He never thought for a moment how demeaning that was to speak of another race in this manner.I used to cringe if he even started walking in my direction.

  He had another bad habit of telling the "real truth" when out in service..That is if you don't sign up with the "truth" god is going to kill you. Needless to say not many wanted to go out in service with him.

  The elders finally got involved and after a while settled him down to the point where he had nothing to say at the meetings and seldom went out in service.I often wondered if they used the threat of "the big stick" to settle him down. I am sure if they couldn't have settled him down he would have been given the boot.

  Power Outages at the KH

  i remember all the kids would silently cheer when the lights went out and hope they stayed out.

  i mean no more silly grin plastered on your face pretending you would enjoy it.

  I can remember a convention where the power went out during the Noah drama just as the rain started to fall inside and outside the facility. 10,000 JWs in the dark...but then what is new?

  Let me think...The Noah drama...The lights go out and rain starts to fall. I bet more than one dub thought that this could be the start of the big "A" Wow...Lucky me,good thing I went today instead of shopping at Wal-Mart like I really wanted to do.

  the early 80's, we had a 10 year old that was considered and announced as "bad association, in harmony with 1 Cor. 15: 33" and treated just as a disfellowshipped person!

  i'd vote for revelation since every nutcase who ever came down the pike has tackled it verse for verse and applied it to the time in which he was living.

  The old test was full of blood...guts and gore all in the name of god

  Along comes the new and we are told love of god and neighbour is what god wants

  Peter was a nut case...But John must have been on cheap drugs to dream up Revelation.

  The whole flow of the NT changes with Revelation and to me does not belong.

  I REFUSE to believe in the god of revelation.
