Me neither. That "poor" bastard threw BCG under the bus way back when she was a teenager. Don't forget that she was hung out to dry by him. And...so were all of her sisters - a couple of them were really young.

He emphatically claimed that he believed her and had believed her all along. But he didn't stand up for her - he went along with the men's club.

Yeah, Bowditch couldn't remember the details of anything that could possibly make him or the WTS look bad, But when it came time for him to recount all the wonderful things he did for her when she got married, he could remember every f**ing detail. Bastard.

All he was describing was normal human interaction and calling it "support". At no time did he validate BCG's experience. All the stuff that he was saying he did - he just did those things to try to assauge his guilty conscience. That wedding participation that he so glowingly recounted, was for his healing of his guilt.

Also, completely off-topic, has anyone else noticed the gorgeous blonde lady in steel-grey jacket and blue shirt? I can't take my eye off her at times - partly because she's so beautiful; partly because some of her reactions to the elders' dumb replies have been priceless!

The blond is a Watchtower lawyer. Her reactions need to be evaluated with that knowledge. She does not like what Stewart is saying. She doesn't like that the elders are being forced to expose how ignorant they are.

I have seen her lip curl in disdain at some of the things that the Commission is saying. She is not happy with the process and what is being revealed.

It was a nice touch on the part of the WT legal team - stick some eye candy out there right in the line of everyone's view when the camera is on Stewart (and directly in the middle - right where the Justice can see her).

Oh well, It is about the only defense the WT team has.

i need to let you know that here in australia the royal commission is alive and well.

people are aware of it and whilst it may not be on the front page of your newspaper, it will end up there at some stage.

although the elders are trying to squirm out of any culpability they are inevitably high jacked by their own arrogant assertions when they start to feel a degree of safety and ease in the questioning.

we all know the wt basis for disfellowshipping, (1 corinthians 5:9-13) 9 12 for what do i have to do with judging those outside?

do you not judge those inside, 13 while god judges those outside?

remove the wicked [man] from among yourselves.. if removing "the man" is a protection for the congregation and no police are called, what does it say about the witnesses view of the world?

Yes. That is why it is important to give this as much coverage as possible. The changes that everybody wants comes from changing laws. That change comes from the public at large.

And not just the little men on the stand. Haha! Justice McClelland made a complete fool out of the Watchtower lawyer. The WT team is grasping at straws and have no clue what they are doing. They have nothing to offer and when the WT mouthpiece handed him the photos of BCG's wedding, McCllelland had him groveling on the floor!!

The WT lawyer made a complete ass out of himself.

Can somebody cut that slice out for me? i would love to get that on my facebook feed. This is such an important piece of testimony that will get everybody's attention. I have friends that will pass that on.

I want to just kiss that Stewart! He is my hero. He has an amazing style and presence. Brilliant questioning. And Justice McClelland. Nothing slips by him. That man has class. I would love to shake his hand. He makes me smile. It was so much fun watching how he so handily exposed that little man's deceptivenes. Lol! He made Bowditch call his own wife a liar! And he chuckled about it. Heehee.

The way I see it is this:

Barbara loaded it, Candace cocked it, and now the trigger has been pulled.

Not to downplay and not give credit to all the other victims who have struggled to tell their stories over the years, but but those two voices have been so prominent in the team that has come forward so far. They have led the way, for sure.

Now, a whole country is listening and not only that, people from around the world have access to live feeds. This is so critical - we don't have to rely on written transcripts or other people's versions of events - each and every one of us all over the world have been empowered. We each can find our own positioning in the events - with our own eyes and ears and make our own decisions. We have been freed by the efforts of many.

Now, the gun was loaded, cocked, and the trigger has been pulled. This could very well, through the power of media, and the courage of all, turn into an automatic machine gun fire.

Keep talking. People are listening.

This is not just for those still trapped and harmed inside of the JW religion. It is for everybody everywhere.

I have a little piece of paper glued to one of my collages. I tore it off the bottom of a letter a dear friend of mine wrote to me shortly before he died of the horrible consequences of PTSD. He had served two tours in Afghanistan and he will always be my hero. The words on that piece of paper say this, written in his beautiful handwriting:

"Act With Courage"

TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE

in my opinion, i believe that from the time a child is molested...and seeks a parent or guardian for help...these are critical hours in which proper authorities, and doctors have a chance to collect very important evidence.. waiting for the next meeting, or waiting for a group of non qualified men to "look into" the situation.....in my opinion compromises evidence, and elders should be held responsible for tampering with evidence...telling families to wait on jehovah.. just sayin..

You are right. But it goes even father than that - the unqualified elders questioning victims corrupts the evidence. Dealing with the memories of abuse and sorting through the events is a difficult process and the elders interference in the victim's testimony can distort and invalidate the victim's memories of events.

It is not just the waiting - it is the process itself which is damaging to evidence. The chairman - Justice McClelland - has pointed this out over and over again - that the process is flawed at the core. Requiring only men to question and make judgements about victim's testimony suppresses the evidence - so much of what happened to the victim never gets addressed because of the male authority figures themselves.

What this commission is doing is exposing the fundamental power imbalance within the JW religion. Men having the ultimate authority is damaging to the victim before any testimony is heard at all. The male only structure is a deep, deep flaw in the whole system that underpines the WTS and the religion itself.

Mad Sweeney: I would expect the UK and other European nations to be next. The USA will be last to follow most likely.

I anticipate a Canadian response at some point. This country has been fairly quiet up to this point on the issue of child abuse within the JW religion.

Canada has a good record of handling historic abuses by establishing Commissions and giving voice and restitution for victims.

Smaller countries seem to be more transparent - it is hard to hide within small populations. Maybe the victims in this cold northern land will brave the weather and start to come forward. All it will take is a brave legal team to start a class action.

Ah, yes...that roaring lion that the WT has depicted as standing and threatening the JWs is going to turn around and bite the WTS right where it hurts - and I hope that it takes a great big bite.

This crow can transform to a mama lioness pretty fast - mama lionesses like to hunt. And they don't like it when cubs are in danger.

On the Wayout: Are we at the tip of the iceberg?

Yes, I believe so.

This Royal Commission is going to act as a trigger for many victims. Victims suppress their experiences in unsafe environments - they stuff their feelings and don't process what happened because it isn't safe to do so.

The Royal Commission is creating an environment of safety and it is that concern and caring that will allow many other victims the supportive enviironment that they need in order to deal with what happened to them.

The victims will come forward...more and more of them to add their voice to the existence of others like them. It is a team effort and the team will continue to grow and grow until their voices are powerful enough to be heard around the world.

And yes, I think that Morris addressing the issue will add to the triggers that will encourage children and adults to seek out information about child abuse. They will begin to understand that the abuse they have suffered is NOT normal - the abuse has been normalized within the systemic abusive environment of the JW religion.

The victims are starting to speak and as the shout begins to grow, more will add their voice.

Scream it from the rooftops...and don't stop until all have been heard.

Let's change the silent lambs to roaring lions.
