Church elders could now face criminal charges for concealment of serious indictable offences and failure to disclose sexual offences against minors, counsel assisting the commission Angus Stewart SC said.

things are heating up in australia.

not a good look!.
Holy crap.
1006 over 60 years is 16.76 per year - more than one per month.
At least one incident of possible sex abuse reported to the elders each and every month over 60 years. And we know that less than 40% of victims come forward. That figure could easily be doubled. Or tripled.
Holy crap.
this absolutely upsets me!they always keep doing this garbage, putting people into harm's way by not telling them the whole information!and plus, any blood info from australia is likely biased... the two jw's they hired to manage blood transfusions in australia are doing an excellent job at doing propaganda.
.
Ilove: Is there any way to protest this? Any way to make changes and ask the Australian government to look into this?
I don't know. The SABM is embedded in every country's patient blood management programs. They have already throttled the blood supply everywhere - in Canada, in Europe, in Russia, in India...the list goes on and on.
I have no idea how to combat the insidious nature of what we are dealing with. Or if it even can be - patient blood management has already become the accepted standard of care and it may very well be too late to do anything about it. The WTS has pulled the wool over the eyes of the entire global medical world. They are sitting and laughing right now...and counting their money.
It pisses me off to no end that blood transfusion guidelines are set by Jehovah's Witnesses. As far as I am concerned, a Jehovah's Witness should not be allowed to come anywhere near any country's blood supply. They should mind their own business and stick to selling Bibles, not f**king around with people's lives.
Like Scientologists deciding what "drugs" are and what people can and cannot receive.
Yes. It would be like all abortion clinics having to follow guidelines that are set by the Catholic Church. Or family planning centers having the nuns hand out birth control.

This is what makes my blood boil.
Follow the link that is in the OP concerning the "Best practice guidelines on blood transfusions":

Patient Blood Management
Patient Blood Management (PBM) is the timely application of evidence-based medical and surgical concepts designed to maintain haemoglobin concentration, optimise haemostasis and minimise blood loss in an effort to improve patient outcome.(1)
The Austrian benchmark study of blood use in adult patients undergoing elective surgery demonstrated three main predictors for red blood cell transfusions: preoperative anaemia, volume of surgical blood loss and failure to adopt a more restrictive threshold for transfusion.(2) Strategies to address these risks are referred to as the three pillars of patient blood management:
optimisation of blood volume and red cell mass
minimisation of blood loss
optimisation of the patient’s tolerance of anaemia
PBM incorporates proactive treatment regimes which are tailored to suit individual patients, using a multidisciplinary team approach to conserve a patient’s own blood. Techniques may involve the use of pharmaceutical agents and medical devices to reduce the need for allogeneic blood transfusion.
An increasing focus on PBM has been driven by a number of factors including:
the risks associated with blood transfusion—with increasing evidence of increased length of stay and higher risk of morbidity and mortality
rising costs, both direct and indirect, associated with provision and transfusion of allogeneic blood
challenges of maintaining an adequate blood supply in the face of increased demand due to ageing population(3)
Within the surgical setting, employment of principles for patient blood management begins at the time of surgical booking and continues through to patient recovery, incorporating preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative measures.
Principles and strategies used for patient blood management are also relevant to non-surgical patients.
Patient Blood Management strategies are advancing and becoming a key area for improvement within the health sector both within Australia and internationally; with increasing demonstration that use of the methods results in:
increased patient satisfaction
decrease in the need for transfusion
improved patient outcomes
healthcare cost savings.(1)
And where do these guidelines for transfusion practice in Australia originate?
The guidelines originate with the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management:

Farmer and Hoffman are definitely JWs - I am not sure about the other names listed...I think a couple of them may be JWs as well. They all have conducted many, many medical studies on Jehovah's Witnesses and are a part of the blood management programs and clinics that have been established through the WTS' Hospital Information Services network.
And that is who is setting the guidelines for EVERYBODY. The WTS trained the people who now control the entire blood supply in Australia. The Society for the Advancement of Blood Management is an "arm's length" Watchtower Society organization. It was founded by Jehovah's Witnesses who came up through the ranks of the Hospital Liaison Committees.
That is what makes my blood boil.
when speaking of "the truth" jehovah's witnesses may have in mind several contexts, including.... "... the entire body of christian teachings that has become part of the bible..." w08 12/15 p. 27-p. 29 par.
13and/or the body of knowledge determined by the "... highest ecclesiastical authority for the faith of jehovah's witnesses..." which is arrived at and sanctioned by the governing body and as stated by gerrit losch in his legal submission to the supreme court of california in february 2014.indeed, most jehovah's witnesses may not discriminate between these two perspectives and will likely envisage the body of knowledge determined by the gb as synonymous with that stated in the aforementioned 2008 wt magazine ("entire body of christian teachings").
however, a number of dissenting/analytical jehovah's witnesses, former congregants, etc., will discern an increasing gulf between that which is scripturally derived / determined, and the body of knowledge arrrived at by the gb.gerrit losch in the following magazine article "w12 8/1 p. 28 champions of the truth" is noted as having asked....''how do we know we have the truth?

SophiaLose:
Now, that's serious mind control!
JWs are nothing in comparison. So, quit your whining!!!
Jehovah's Witnesses are told to give up their life for the WTS' blood god. And they will even lay their children on the altar of the blood god.
How much more serious do you want it to get???? How much more serious can it get?

Terry, have you ever had the opportunity to view the movie "The Master"?
http://www.wired.com/2012/09/the-master-review/
Review: The Master Elegantly Dissects Cult Psychosis
BEAUTIFUL TO LOOK at, strangely hypnotic and utterly original, The Master examines cult dynamics through the ’50s-era misadventures of a violent ex-sailor with horrible posture and zero impulse control.
Filmmaking artistry aside, writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson‘s picture hits home as a period-perfect examination of a perpetually recurring truth: When people hanker for a know-it-all authority figure who will tell them what to think, self-appointed “masters” will be more than happy to oblige.
Anderson brings cult behavior into fascinating focus by examining the bond between two characters portrayed by extraordinary actors: the accidental, alcoholic seeker Freddie Quill, played by Joaquin Phoenix, and the suave, all-American swami Lancaster Dodd, played by Philip Seymour Hoffman.
...read more about the movie by following the link...
The movie is apparently based upon Ron Hubbard and his mind control methods. I found it to be a disturbing movie that is all too real in its depiction of mind control tactics. Chilling. I highly recommend it - but for anyone who could be triggered by past experiences with cult control....you might not want to watch it. I found parts of it difficult to watch.
lets say someone has a sexual encounter and a third party video taps it.
in canada, it would be illegal for the one that taped the video to show it to the elders as this would be "invasion of privacy".
what i am wondering however is if any legal action can be done against the elders and the wt if they view this video and take it into account in a judicial comity.
ecan6:
The person who filmed was not involved in the sexual activity. Hence, I know for a fact that he cannot show this video to anyone as legal recourse can be done against him.

In Canada, that tape would be a legal piece of evidence. A person is allowed to tape/videotape a conversation or interaction with someone else without their knowledge. The only person who needs to give consent is the person who taped it if they are one of the parties involved.3rdgen: I have a relative whose wife told the elders he was physically abusing her. They wanted to meet with him. He wanted to prove his innocence and show that actually it was HER who was abusive so he videotaped several episodes of her fits of rage.
His elders (California) flatly refused to even look at the tapes. Legal must have told them that there must be consent to be taped and consent for said tape to be viewed by others.
