  Audesapre: These buffoons have ZERO interest in knowing anything about the accuser. They had opportunity to read her testimony and/or watch the hearings but boldly admit that they did no such thing.

  I think he is lying. He read her statement. His response to Stewart's first question about what he had said to his wife was way too fast and appeared to be rehearsed.

  All of the JWs have claimed so far that they haven't read the victims' statements. I believe this is a defensive tactic that they have been told to say but it is pure bullshit.

  By saying they haven't read the statements, they want to appear as though they are truthful and not just denying what is said in the victim statement. Their lawyers have told them to say they didn't read the statements.

  Of course they have. All of them have lied about it.

  The Commission is getting angry. They have been so cool up to this point but this Dinoshit is really testing their patience. You can feel and see the anger from those who are questioning him. Stewart gave up...he couldn't deal with him anymore. He was obviously pissed. They all are.

  Dinoshit should go to jail for contempt of court. He has been caught is so many lies.

  MadSweeney: OH MY GOD he's justifying dads mouth-kissing their daughters!

  Yeah...he claimed that it was a cultural behavior that actually was a way that some families show affection. And then he said that the guy was Hungarian!! This is a new one for me...I know Hungarians. It is not a part of their culture.

  I have a hard time to not punch my computer screen while watching and listening to this f**head. He is a blatant liar - makes a person wonder about "the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth" that he swore to tell when he was holding onto the silver sword. It makes a mockery of their bible, doesn't it?

  remember there was a talk about not listening to "false stories" about sexual abuse from apostates on jw's fantasy station?

  did the governing body put it out there as preemptive damage control because they knew this was coming?

  they must have had subpoenas giving them a heads up.

  I agree. Especially if the Royal Commission's findings result in criminal prosecution of some of the elders and the higher ups in the Australian branch.

  The ripple effect has yet to reach full tsunami proportions...but it will. The floodgates are opening wider every day. Thank goodness for people like Barbara Anderson and the victims like Candace and others who have come forward already - they truly are heroes. This Royal Commission is such a strong affirmation of all those who have worked so hard for justice.

  Kudos to everybody who has given voice to the unheard - their voices are about to be shouted worldwide. I am willing to shout if I have to, and scream when necessary. I will never be silent. I will go to my grave screaming for justice and retribution for all the victims of this horrible cult.

  Someone will hear...somewhere. We will not be silenced.

  i'm sitting here drinking my morning coffee and opened up the yahoo page to see jw's trending at #10. clicked on it and the first article is about the child abuse.. did something happen lately that would get so many people doing a massive search?.

  I agree. It explains why they have been flooding social media sites with their jw..org crap and trying to up the rank of their own propaganda on search engines through the promotion of their website.

  It has been a deliberately planned campaign to keep the news about this commission under wraps.

  I don't think it is working. Bad news travels fast.

  Dragging Jehovah's name trough the mud!

  listening to the first survivor testify to the australian royal commission really brought back some feelings i had put aside.. the feelings of guilt you feel for doing the right thing is extremely hard even when you know it's illogical it doesn't stop the abuse you do to yourself with these toxic thoughts of "dragging jehovah's name through the mud" i guess it doesn't help that you have the elders freaking out saying "reproach, reproach...this is bad!!

  it took quite awhile for me to come to terms with how completely ridicules it is to think jehovah would want this hidden.

  the truth is the religion wants it hidden and they are perfectly fine with destroying lives along the way!!

  You are right, Eden. It is a cultural understanding of "name". I think I am more used to the Chinese expression of lose "face" rather than "name".

  "Jehovah's name" still sounds weird to me. I guess it is because the JWs emphasize so much that "Jehovah is God's name" that it is difficult for me to turn that around to "reputation" in this usage.

  I find the phrase "Jehovah's name" to be odd.

  It doesn't make sense. If I were to refer to a person, I would say "you should be careful about damaging that person's name"...I wouldn't say "Bob's name" because his name is Bob.

  What is Jehovah's name? Well...it is Jehovah.

  It is a redundant phrase.

  Does that mean that God's name is Jehovah but Jehovah's name...is "God"???

  Huh. Bob's name is Bob. Well, no shit.

  I just did a google search on "Jehovah's Witnesses".

  Before this story broke, that search term would have returned almost a full page of jw..org.

  Now, jw..org is holding onto the top spot, but the rest of the first page has been taken over by the abuse scandal.

  I hope the JWs keep directing the public to the internet. Nice of them to alert the public that their organization is online. Most people will do a search instead of just going to their website.

  I am waiting for jw..org to get knocked out of their top spot on search results.
