  Do u know any JW"s that have suicided?

  sorry if this is a sad question, but i know of 3 jw's that have suicided.

  i haven't known any personally, but i was wondered if you know any or know of any jw's that have suiced?

  and do you know the reason why?

  "Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger." Is it me or did this make Jehovah sound more like Satan?

  In the Winder, Ga. congregation there was a pioneer sister and her husband. They both grew weary and ended up disfellowshipped. She decided to leave to be with another man. The husband was distraught over this. He invited the sister over to "talk". He shot and killed her then he turned the gun on himself. They were the parents of young children. This took place in the 1980s.

  There were two scriptures. One was about Jesus' yoke being light. The other was about Jehovah adding no pain with it when you serve him. The fact is that this world can be difficult and painful to live in without being a JW. Become a JW and allow them to gradually take over your life, even your remotest thoughts and actions. Attend five meetings a week, study & dress for them. Go in service as much as you can; feel guilty because you can't do more. Save your worldy coworkers, friends and relatives: get their blood off of your hands.Read the mags. Do the text. Conduct a family study. Daily Bible reading. Have a spotless house, yard, car. Have a flawless reputation. Save and shop for one big convention and two little ones a year. Spend your family vacations at a convention. Your children are calling cards for the org. Fret each time you need to discipline your child because there is nothing you can take away from him/her to teach them a lesson. Your children already have no freedom and no life. Watch your children's eyes when they tell you they are lonely because they have no friends at school or the neighborhood and the kids at the hall treat them as if they have some dread disease. Fret over how they behave when not in your presence. Oh no JR. made a construction paper pumpkin and it is mid October. What will people think? Was that a harvest pumpkin? Will people think it's for halloween or Thanksgiving? Will Jr. make Jah's evil list for this?Will I lose him forever? Worry everyday that no matter what you are doing for the org. it is still not going to be good enough for Jehovah.

  Jesus' load may be light but the load the GB places on you is so heavy it causes a lot of depression. Some break down and collapse. Some kill themselves. Some have killed their children. Life can be very sad and difficult. Being a JW can make it unbearable.

  What do you call Jehovah now that you are not a dub?

  is it just me, or does the dub lifestyle encourage astounding degrees of laziness?

  we're expected to sit quietly at the meetings and be spoon feed repititious information without thinking for ourselves.

  dubs are discouraged from making any decisions without the counsel or approval of the society.

  Good. The less you did in the org hopefully the less you will be hurt by it. Read up on nutrition, vitamins, herbs, etc. Take good care of yourself and maybe develop one hobby you like. Don't have one? Try one at a time until you find something you enjoy. Doing something productive that you also enjoy just might cheer you up and then it will affect the other areas of your life as well.

  When I read that someone didn't do much while in the org. I smile. This is very good news, you know? You are smarter than you maybe you give yourself credit for.

  Should The Age Of Consent Be Lowered To 13?

  at present the age of consent in the uk is 16. .

  in spain the age of consent is 13. .

  the argument i have heard put forward is that a legal age of consent has little effect on younger people.

  Here's a bit on the age differences between two partners:

  Even if you are at the age of consent for where you live, the age of your partner can also effect the legality of the act. Confused yet? It gets worse! If you and your partner are both UNDER the age of consent, neither of you can legally consent to sex and under the law, you are both committing an offence in having sex (although this type of offence is rarely charged). If you are at the age of consent but your partner is OVER the age of majority, even if you yell yes at the top of your lungs and bring the condom, your partner could be guilty of Statutory Rape. If you are at the age of consent, but not at the age of majority, and you have sex with somebody under the age of consent, you too could be guilty of Statutory Rape. Some states will even charge you as an adult! As far as the law goes, if you are at the age of consent, it is safest to have sex with somebody your own age. Even 1 year can make a difference. Here's a strange scenario: you could be legally having sex with your boyfriend who is only 1 year older than you when he has a birthday that puts him at the age of majority, depending on where you live it may not be legal for the two of you to continue having sex, even if you have been intimate for months or years.

  I tend to call him Father or Heavenly Father. Before my mind and heart were filled with the poisonous God called Jehovah of the WTBTS religion, I viewed him as a kindly, all powerful grandfather type god who cherished us unconditionally. I never entertained the idea that there was something he could not forgive me for. Or you for that matter.

  If I say Jehovah, it is out of ingrained habit. The name makes me uncomfortable because Jehovah became known to me as a bloodthirsty, angry, impatient, jealous reservoir of dynamic energy. I tend to choke on the name if I say it.

  I wonder how it is really pronounced. Also, as was pointed out previously on this thread, we usually don't refer to our fathers by their personal name.

  Dear Enishi,

  I was chronically ill and aux pioneered one month. I nearly killed myself and I have never been the same since. You must be blessed with an extraordinary amount of energy if you think keeping up the regular JW schedule isn't difficult much less the pioneer's schedule.

  Life in the JWs doesn't encourage diversity of interests. It encourages people to be uniform and to lose a lot of what makes them unique. Is this laziness? I can't fathom thinking the JW lifestyle encourages laziness. You are supposed to have the cleanest house and car. You are supposed to have the nicest yard. You are supposed to be always well groomed. I went to the Catholic church a few times in the last couple of years. They wear jeans to church. Dressing up to the nines for meetings and field service takes a lot more effort. I used to do a lot of ironing. Don't forget the trips to the drycleaners.

  Do you have allergies? Allergies can make it very hard to concentrate. They can make you lethargic. You don't necessarily have to have respiratory symptoms along with these. Check under your eyes for allergy shiners. Also, take note whether your lethargy accompanies seasonal changes, etc.You could be mildly depressed, too. Generally, if you want to do things but just don't have the energy to do them, there is often an emotional or phsyical cause behind your lack of motivation. It's not wise just to chalk it up to laziness. People are rarely just plain old lazy.

  My day took a really neat turn....

  i have been travelling this week for my company.. i was due to fly from nashville to newark through chicago today, but the flight was oversold.

  the gate agents were begging for anybody to take a later flight to chicago, offering incentives, but since delaying my connection would have brought me in way too late, i wasn't interested.. then they announce that those of us who are flying to newark could instead fly to la guardia (new york city), with an upgrade to first class and a three hundred dollar travel voucher.

  Circuit overseer "rips them a new one"

  my jw buddy just called me with some "fun" news.

  they had the co last week, and of course dave and i were part of the elder's meeting agenda.

  my friend has just had a conversation with one of the elders, who told her about it because it involved her.

  And to think I was once part of the org. that inspires such altruistic behavior. Really, Mulan are you sure you want put up that tree and burn the bridges to such valuable friendships? Think of all the fun you will be missing out on. You could go with them on their reconnaissance missions. You could take along a video camera and fashion your own version of COPS.Or maybe it could be like the old FBI from the 60s. At the end they could show the JW having a mugshot made and then tell what the charge and the sentance was. It helps put a humorous spin on the similar thing my sister/sister did to me last July. The elders didn't do anything to me as far as I know. Maybe it's because they don't have my address. It's funny; but it also makes you feel very sick inside, you know?
