Awwww, I've had that happen, too. And you can't copy your post so that you have it just in case it disappears when you hit the submit button. You can't type your post in notepad and copy and paste it either. I wonder why. It would be another step to take but at least we wouldn't lose a post we just typed up.

I don't think you are being dramatic at all. Music is like a drug to some of us. I don't think my childhood would have been very happy without it either. My mother played classical piano and that is what I was lulled to sleep with every night. I grew up during the 60s and 70s. Music was delightful for a child then. I was lucky enough to have teenaged siblings so I didn't miss out on early Motown or the British Invasion. I had a lot of reasons to be sad as a little girl but music made my soul soar. It was the drug that got me through every day and night.
Fond memory: AM/FM transistor pocket radio with earphone received as christmas gift. Listening to distant AM stations such as WWL New Orleans or KAAY Little Rock, Arkansas Underground Music show after midnight during late 60s. They played Jimi Hendrix, Iron Butterfly, etc. music that was too hard for KMRC AM Morgan City, Louisiana Fourteen Thirty on your dial.
I don't understand people not liking music or needing it. I respect their preference; I just don't get it.

That is a captivating story. I could picture the whole thing in my mind. Too bad no one called the police for an indecent exposure charge on such a charming family. Sounds like they needed to move to that island once mentioned in Awake! The one where everyone was really huge and they would beat the *ahem* bubbles out of the king after one of their feasts. Anyone remember that one? Not that I have anything against huge people. I am not super thin myself but I do cover me up with clothes when I have my blinds open or for public appearances.

the first one is entitled "our watchfulness takes on greater urgency" and the second article is "prove yourselves ready for jehovah's day".. i'm not going to go into these articles in depth, as that is blondies job!
but i will elaborate on a few points.. before i begin, let's consider a recent comment at the annual general meeting by bro barr, a gb member to put things into perspective:.

what do everyone's screen names mean?
some are pretty self-explanatory, but a few have me intrigued.
My name: Flying High Now
My dad tells me that now that I have left the JWs, it's as if I have walked through the looking glass into another shining world. This is because he knows I am much happier and that my life has been transformed.
I still have problems, especially with the sad shape my grown children's lives are in, but I am much more at peace. I have a wonderful kindred spirit, Andy that I spend my life with these days.
I am free and I am flying high. No more crawling with my nose in the dirt, groveling everyday, hoping Jehovah won't be so displeased with me that he zaps me with lightening and razes me from this very earth.

On running to the Kingdom Hall:
Remember the town in South or Central America where the volcano erupted? Some of the JWs didn't leave town like they were told. They ran to the Kingdom Hall instead, thinking Jehovah would protect them there. The eruption caused a mudslide that buried the whole village including the KH. All JWs seeking saftey there in the hall were killed. The brothers told us to heed the warnings when we're told to evacuate, listen to the higher authorities.
Maybe they wised up after a few KHs got vaporized by volcanos, buried in mud, or washed away by floods to the fact that Jah doesn't protect KHs. They also took the sick opportunity to use the tragedy to illustrate the point that we should heed the warnings of the WTBTS.

We live on the third floor of a very nice apartment building. Basically our life here is peaceful and serene. Southwest Michigan is peaceful and serene. But one bewildering thing happened. Our neighbor below us has a BBQ grill. This is against our complex's rules and against the town fire codes where we live. He was using the grill and the smoke was coming straight up through our wooden porch. Then one day after a big rain, I went to empty the rain out of our chairs and voila, the water splashed a little on his BBQ grill. The guy freaked and started yelling at me. Ooooops.
The story has a good ending though. We noticed a paper tacked to his door. I saw it was from the local fire department. It was official notification that they are breaking the law and that they will get a fine and lose the grill if they are caught doing it again. I bet he thinks we called the FD. We didn't. You can bet we will call the FD if they crank that grill up again. Can you believe they would be that foolish as to light a grill less than 8 feet below a wooden deck?
