More football nonsense: [name] 'got a lot of stick'.
Very tiresome.
i have words that irritate me and not always without reason.. my latest hate is the word: 'solutions' as used by so many businesses in their title these days.
y'know, 'something innane business solutions' and such balderdash.. i loathe that word now.
arrrrggghhhhhh!

I have an irritating phrase: 'let's be clear about this'.
Used by politicians to squirm out of a difficult situation whilst they befuddle the listener/questioner.
this is the scuttlebutt in one of the "bethel congregations" by us.. no details as to exactly what this "faith-testing" announcement might be.. anyone else hear any of this pre-zone visit hype?.

'The generation that will not pass away until all these things occur, refers to those that witness the present Iraqi conflict in the Middle East. The encamped armies are fighters loyal to Islam. Simon is Gog and Magog in both a literal and symbolic sense, and the Devil is in-the-detail.' - fantastic!
I don't know what substance you're taking, THE GLADIATOR, but if you have any left over, can I have some?
it seems like the society has been desperately seeking ways to cut costs and boost reviniew (jw.org, kingdom hall programs, etc) over the past four or five years.
is this because donations are actually down?
or have they been preparing themselves for these lawsuits?
In answer to the OP I don't know.
'The more cases in the spotlight - the more JWs will come out with their own bad experiances. Creating even more lawsuits' - f**king good!
Those b*****ds at Bethel deserve it. I hope the WTS sinks without trace.
Excellent question, punkofnice. But if these True Believers TM believe that their eternal salvation depends on this then a reasonable answer to your question might be: very many indeed.
the answer to this question is not that easy or obvious as you might think.
if your answer is "creationists" you are wrong, they are evolutionists a rare breed of evolutionists, but evolutionists at last .. at this stage of my argumentation you might think i have lost my mind for stating jehovahs witnesses are evolutionists, but this might be because you are thinking as the wt has taught you to think.
the wt has presented a distorted view of the theory of evolution.
I agree with you, cofty, JWs don't know the first thing about evolution. The Society, willfully it seems, consistently confuse evolution with abiogenesis.
In answer to the OP JWs are neither, IMO. They will do and say anything to promote the Society - no more, no less.
in another thread i raised the point " there are moderate muslims but their is no moderate islam".
now i must face the fact i have muslim friends who say they believe the koran.. well i have asked these muslim friends, if they have investigated the origins of the koran.
they have answerd " yes".
@AlphaMan - BOTR is an educated person and really should know better. Ignore her nonsense statements.
Let's continue this thread ...

I agree with humbled - this thread can be good without the need for diatribes.
So here's my opinion, for what it's worth: it's just not worth it for any of us to try to help muslims see organised religion for what it is.
Islam needs reforming but only muslims can do this. Likewise, whatever muslims truly believe, they'll have to figure this out for themselves in their own way. Until Islam is tamed like Christianity, it's best to let them get on with it, IMO.

Oh yes, I agree with you humbled caution is the word here.
JWs can and do disfellowship, shun, and disinherit 'apostates'. This is bad but it's nothing compared to what some muslims do to apostates.

Sorry, humbled, I obviously didn't know that you had that problem.
I should sometimes think more before I type.
I really am sorry.

@humbled - generally speaking, the Muslim World doesn't go a bundle on 'freedom', does it?
@nhah - we're not talking about falling over on the ice and bruising your leg here, are we?
I realise I'm swiftly becoming a pain in the a$$, but be careful.
