I smell a dirty great rat with this Ukraine stuff - yeah, me too, Punk.
I saw two different signs at the game, side by side, held up by Ukrainian fans.
One read: We Need F-16 (the fighter jets)
The other read: Peace
You couldn't make this shit up

Despite Hollywood going woke, all is not lost
by LoveUniHateExams inmuch has been made of hollywood pushing woke ideology, typically at the expense of decent plots and characters.. well, all is not lost.. there are still independent directors out there making great movies, and even hollyweird is still capable of making a great movie now and again.. robert eggers - the witch, the lighthouse, the northman.. jennifer kent - the babadook, the nightingale.. ari aster - hereditary, midsommar.. edgar wright - shaun of the dead, hot fuzz, the world's end, last night in soho.. jordan peele - get out, us, nope.
<--- peele is a darling of the left because he pushes the idea of strong black leads in his films, but the reality is he's an independent film-maker who makes the films he wants to make.
personally, i'm not too keen on him and have never seen his films and i don't intend to, but i've heard he's pretty good..

It's been a long 9 years Lloyd Evans / John Cedars

@SBF - yes, that was what I thought when I read Lloyd's story.
Lloyd can spin quite a good yarn, minimising or skipping over stuff that reflects badly on him.
So let me spell it out: Lloyd had been indulging in online sex stuff, which his wife, Dijana, discovered on his phone. Then Lloyd started crying and screaming, trying to grab the phone.
He sounds just like a spoilt toddler, doesn't he. 🤣
Poor Dijana, being married to this toxic clown.

I really hope he goes fully woketard mode - me too.
The far Left typically eat their own at some point, and it would be great to be watching from the sidelines when this eventually happens to Lloyd.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy

@TonusOH - a vampire novel (or at least a novel with a vampire in it) that I strongly recommend is Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist. I love the film, too. The novel is particularly dark but it's fantastic. Some passages are difficult to read, but at its core it is a love story between a bullied 12 year old kid and a 200 year old vampire who looks like a girl.

Is Wokeness a Religion
by JeffT inthis is long so i'll just post a link, i think many here will agree with a lot of what the author has to say.
it certainly resonated with my thinking of the last few years.

Is that the hundreds of millions of followers of Islam and Jews, with their centuries old tradition of circumcision? - although that is the case, I don't think that's what Simon was referring to here.
I'm fairly sure that what Simon was referring to was gender swap clinics putting children on puberty blockers, pumping them full of cross-sex hormones, and putting chest-binders on young girls because they don't like their breasts.
Shit like that.

TonusOH - yes, that other short story is also at the end, called One More For The Road.
'... somewhere out there, that little girl is still looking for her goodnight kiss' - or something like that.

@TonusOH - ah, right.
I know what you're talking about.
The last chapter of my copy of Salem's Lot has this little story as its final chapter.
It's set in the 1700s, from what I remember, and is done in the form of letters between two people. I always felt this last chapter didn't fit too well with the rest of the novel, lol.
