  i know there was a leak a few weeks back, but this really does seem to have come out of the blue.. the anomaly was the original decision.

  Personally i think it's pretty early - yeah, me too. Even if life does begin at conception, the zygote is just a cell. It has no nervous system, cannot feel pain or anything else. Very early in the pregnancy, the baby is just a clump of dividing cells, that's it.

  Later on, the foetus can move, respond to its mother's voice, feel pain. Just look at that scan which someone posted a few pages ago in this thread. The scan at 12 weeks clearly shows a miniature human being.

  Oh that is grotesque - if you think that's bad, how about this: a US woman called Lindsey Ellis deliberately got herself pregnant just so she could have an abortion and make a documentary about it. The documentary is apparently called The A Word. WTF is wrong with these people?!

  One thing I will say: the beliefs of the liberal-left have little or no logic to them.

  I saw a photo of an obviously pregnant woman who'd written 'not a human life yet' on her swollen belly. I can bet any money that that same woman would say 'I lost my baby' if she miscarried.

  At least the right's view on this is logical - life begins at conception, so abortion is murdering the unborn baby. You can disagree with the right, but at least their beliefs have some kind of logic.

  Just out of interest, if life doesn't begin at conception, when does it begin?

  This is a very difficult topic to say the least.

  It's obviously controversial, and the overturning of Roe v Wade is definitely divisive.

  There is much to discuss, e.g. rape victims who get pregnant do deserve abortions, I totally agree with this point.

  But let's be honest, the majority of women getting abortions aren't rape victims.

  Boys and girls need good advice in their schooling and education - including sex education.

  Here's a piece of advice that I've heard from someone else but it makes sense and so I'd give it to young women: only sleep with a man if you think he'd make a good father.

  Liberals have been crying, hysterically saying that with this new ruling, women will be at the mercy of their sexual biology. And I say: bollocks! Adults should behave responsibly and be held responsible for their own behaviour.

  The function of male and female bodies is to make babies, that's obvious.

  Clearly, Homo sapiens is a sexually reproducing species, and people can learn this the easy way or the hard way.

  It should be up to each individual woman to decide what she wants to do re abortions - but that was determined at federal level.

  So, that had been made legal and determined by Federal authorities, not individual women.

  BTW, it still is up to individual women to decide whether she has an abortion or not ...

  Do you think this is revenge from the patriarchy for #metoo movement and so on? The Depp/Heard judgement now this, things seems to be swinging the other way - er, no, I don't think so.

  Heard was shown in court to be a lying, manipulative bitch who was abusive to Depp herself.

  This current decision (scrapping Roe v Wade) gives each individual state a chance to decide what it wants to do re abortions. And that's called democracy, pal.

  If a woman in, say, Texas, wants an abortion then she'll need to travel to another state. I can't see a major problem here.

  Maybe all those rich celebrities crying over this decision can start an abortion charity - there's nothing stopping them doing this ...

  saluting the flag was something not encountered very often here in the 1970s uk, in fact that kind of nationalism or patriotism was something i'd been warned about as a young boy, being brought up in the jehovah's witnesses from age 4, through meetings and the publications.

  at some point, i don't know when, i decided it was more american, whether rightly or wrongly.. but even so, there was a large black and white photo of our entire school in panoramic format right outside my classroom on the wall saluting the flag, and i think this was the 1977 25 year jubilee of queen elizabeth ii.. now as a young person attending a fairly religious school in the 1970's, you were used to "making a stand" for things, letter in hand first day in a new class, and being ushered into one room or another to avoid religious assemblies and other xmas, and other seasonal celebrations.. one day the teachers, in their abundant wisdom, stood myself and a younger witness in the corridor right outside the assembly hall where the children would filter past.

  every second or third child that filtered past would ask, "why are you standing there?

  I am not really interested in all this pomp and ceremony - me neither. I've never really watched that kind of stuff - I've never watched Trooping The Colour, for instance.

  The Queen takes her duties seriously and I respect her for that. William seems to have a sensible head on his shoulders, and Charles has grown on me over the years.

  Sounds like 50 Shades of Grey? That was unwatchable - I'd say there were several scenes that were awkward viewing. There are two scenes of spanking, and three scenes of masturbating (obviously you don't see the naughty bits, lol) - two featuring Maggie Gyllenhaal's character and one featuring James Spader's.

  I wouldn't call Secretary unwatchable, just weird.

  BTW - I've never seen Fifty Shades of Grey.

  I think it's a good point to remember re these people losing their minds over this decision: abortion isn't being banned wholesale. It's just being stopped at the federal level. So, I'm sure liberal states such as California will keep all the abortion 'rights' that existed up till now.

  I can't see where the problem is.

  This just seems a case of the liberal left crying because a decision went against them.

  should realise the hideousness of the now inevitable back street abortions - the blame for any hideous back street abortions lies squarely with the pregnant women who choose to do this.

  Adults must be held accountable for their behaviour and life choices.
