  i was just looking at some happy holidays / xmas cards some of us sent each other at the close of 2016 of the cards i received only a few of them have your jwn name on them ,the other `s gave me their real names which i cant reveal here.. however this post is for everybody that is on this forum not just to the few i`m referring to.just to clarify .. and i was going to send greetings to you all this year for 2020.. one was from hawaii.

  If statistics is really evidence of God's blessing ... well, think of the billions of Catholics and Muslims the world over.

  Looking back at the people I knew in the Jobos.....

  ...there are very few if any, that i would have willingly associated with.. my 'worldly(tm)' friends are all brilliant people.

  they are nothing like the weirdos i had to put up with in the congregations.. what is your take on the people in the jobos as opposed to your associates now?.

  I don't think it's fair to say all JWs are weirdoes. I had some decent friends.

  But I agree, my 'worldly' friends I left behind are much better.

  I've since friended 11 of them on FaceBook. Some of them, I asked, some of them asked me to be friends.

  One woman who's the same age as me, asked to be my friend on FB ... she was my friend from age 12 to 15 - we hadn't spoken in 24 years!
  

  But not one of my JW friends have hit me up on FB.

  Not one, and I did a gentle fade, I didn't become an Evil Apostate TM. That says something.

  we brits are being bombarded with facts and speculation about the horrific consequences of either corbin or johnson getting into power .

  another thread has discussed the anti-semitic leanings ( or not ) of corbin .

  what do people think about the left's claims that boris would sell off the nhs ,only this morning l saw a post on fb saying that " america is demanding full access to nhs records " it has been pointed out by a political reporter on the bbc that the talks that the papers were leaked about happened before johnson became pm and these were just things that have been put on the negotiating table by the usa .

  Conservatives consistently underfund the NHS when they are in power - yes, I mentioned this in an earlier post. I said the Tories may usually underfund it. But Jhine's OP asked whether the tories would sell it off. All available evidence says no, they won't do that.

  The Scottish NHS performs better and the Conservatives don’t control the NHS in Scotland - that may well be a factor but it doesn't cover the state of the NHS elsewhere, outside of Scotland.

  The reality is that immigration levels shot up in the late 90s under Labour, and that this has an effect, and the tories haven't properly sorted it out, either.

  The NHS has gotten worse over time, under the fag end of the last Labour government, under the coalition government, and under the Tory governments since 2015.

  Unmanaged immigration - legal and illegal - puts pressure on public services, including the NHS. That is just a fact that cannot be swept under the carpet.

  A good proportion of those who will depend on the NHS in coming years will figure this out and vote accordingly.

  And please withdraw your accusation of me blaming immigrants - I did no such thing.

  I actually blamed the UK's high population density plus the immigration policies of successive UK governments, not the immigrants themselves.

  Hospital waiting times at worst-ever level [title of the linked BBC article] - yeah, that happens when you have dodgy immigration policies.

  Our politicians - particularly left-wing politicians - don't do joined up thinking at all.

  To start with, the UK is quite crowded - there are many people per square km.

  Then, we need to consider Labour throwing open our borders from the late 1990s onwards. The Tories haven't done immigration well, either.
  

  We don't know how many illegal immigrants are in the UK. We don't know how many illegal immigrants use our NHS and clog up the system.

  Obviously, the NHS budget should be spent wisely to bring down waiting times but we must have sensible policies across the board, including immigration policies.

  "The will of the British People" is trotted out as though it is a static thing - ok, the will of the British people isn't a static thing.

  But here's the thing - Brexit hasn't been implemented.

  Brexit had the highest turnout of any democratic exercise in UK history, and it hasn't been carried out. Even if Johnson gets a majority this election, our 'honourable' MPs will keep fighting it.

  The UK voting public are free to change their minds but that doesn't mean a democratic vote can be overturned - it's never happened before.

  Remember the 1975 vote on membership of the EEC? No second referendum three years later on that occasion.
