It may not be photo-shopped. But I was thinking how exposed it would be to live in a dwelling whose front door was so publically accessible.

I think ab.ortega was referencing photoshopping the coloring - making the image 'pop' with some vibrancy in the color department, rather than actual photo manipulation.

Though, as you stated, WT have decided to crop the image a certain way, which I don't think is a probem - they also need a horizontal landscape crop for the purpose of fitting onto the JW website.

I purposefully though did include the larger image to show that the doorway was literally in the shadow of the local church - thought it would be interesting to show

The Metropolitan Museum Oasis Bible Tours in NYC

i just came home from a day in nyc and was taken to the met for the the woman and her offspring tour i went to keep peace and just enjoy my family.

i've been to the metrpolitan museum of art on many occasions and have enjoyed spending time wandering thru the exhibits appreciating the art and history.

since all family members wanted to do the tour by the wts entitled a woman and her offspring, i thought i could just follow along and just enjoy the art and exhibits.. in all honesty, i'm still amazed at this whole tour.

Hi Half banana - Darkspilver, thanks for info. I am a frequent visitor at the BM and the incident I reported would have been a midweek visit. I never normally go on Saturday which is when they must mainly be operating.

Maybe it was during the International Conventions they had in London at the end of August 2014? I'm sure they would have been organising midweek tours to the BM in the week before and week afterwards...

Hi rebel8 - Sorry, what is "woman and her offspring" and what does a public museum have to do with jws? I am lost.

It's the name of a tour operated by Oasis (the tour was previously titled 'The Woman and her Seed')

Pubic museums often have arrangement's in place for the conducting of 'private guiding tours' - a number of JW operated private tours take place in both New York's Met and London's British Museum.

Although 'private' those people walking nearby can normally hear what is being said.

Jesus and the fig tree, what are jws taught?

in the story in the gospel of mark, mark writes that jesus is hungry and comes across a fig tree.

mark explains that it not in season yet jesus upon finding the fig tree has produced no fruit kills the tree.. this story makes no sense if literal so do the gun teach that it literally happened?.

The event will take place at 4 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the Eggspress restaurant at 8028 Marcel-Villeneuve Avenue.

I took the time to expand on that - adding the actual day of the week for example - oh, and the actual full address of the venue including the zip/post code, useful for popping into your favourite online/cell phone map to work out how far away it is - sure not much, but I thought the event was important enough to take that little extra bit of time, after all, anything that helps people attend, or decide if they can attend....

But, yeah, why bother adding that information?

I have learned over the years from media reps that it's so much better if part of the article is posted with a link and readers then go to the news organization responsible for the information so they, the media organization, finds out how many people read the article. If there's lots of interest in the subject, more articles will follow.

OK, sure, fully understand your thought principle here, a kind of 'clicks-before-facts' adage - I can run with that.

GB member Geoffrey Jackson going apostate

yes, it's true, geoffrey jackson, the cleverest member of the governing body, is going apostate.. he's already written two scholarly books, the question is .... when is his third book going to be released!!.....

What's interesting is the time period comparisions with Ray Franz.

Ray Franz joined the GB in 1971 and left in 1980 - after nine years at which point he was neither amongest the newest to be appointed (a whole bunch were appointed in both 1974 and 1977) and neither amongst the longest serving - he was 'in-the-middle' in terms of length of time on GB.

Now fast forward to today....

Geoffrey Jackson, having been appointed in 2005 is likewise 'in-the-middle' having been on the GB for 11 years, he is neither amongst the longest or shortest serving GB member. He hasn't been on the GB for too long, but long enough...
