  Bible Highlights(this week) : What is the bitter water that an adulteress had to drink in Numbers 5:24?

  in this week's bible highlights we read about the bizarre trial by ordeal that a woman had to undergo if she was under suspicion of adultery .in number 5:24 we read about this strange "bitter water" that she had to drink resulting if guildy to a sponteneous degeneration of her reproductive organs ,please read the rest of the article here for more clarification ,maybe you can use it this week during the bible highlights at the meeting.... what is the bitter water that a woman had to drink in numbers 5:24?.

  The actual question from the 15 April 1984 edition of the Watchtower on page 29 in the article "Respect Jehovah, Urges the Book of Numbers" is:
  
  Q: What actually happened to a wife guilty of adultery? Numbers 5:11-31
  
  A: No affliction was brought on by the water itself. But it was drunk before Jehovah, who knew whether the woman was guilty of adultery. If she was, he would make her belly swell and her thigh fall away. Evidently the thigh is used here euphemistically for the procreative organs. (Compare Genesis 46:26.) 'Fall away' suggests that these organs atrophied, making conception impossible. This would harmonize with the fact that if the woman was innocent her husband was to make her pregnant.

  LOL!.... DATA-DOG did you get out of the wrong side of bed today?.... the meeting is just the CO handing over the cards of those who haven't reported for six or more continuous months to the CBE and asks that they (E/Ms) endeavour to contact each one to invite them to the Sunday meeting. It's all very quick and the CO will probably make a quick exit. NOTHING will be probably said about irregular reporters or those with very very very low hours, focus is purely on those inactive people. And no follow through, purely about attending the Sunday meeting that week.

  Yes, that's right DwainBowman - it's about the number of inactive people you have in your congregation, that is those that haven't turned in a report form consecutively for six or more months.

  He will ask you to make an effort to contact them ALL and invite them to his special talk on Sunday about being rescued from world distress.

  He will probably also be keeping score between congregations - nothing like a bit of competition! - so it's likely that, for example, he'll tell you that the North Town Congregation had 8 inactive people and 7 came to the meeting on the Sunday!

  Of course it also all depends on how many 'inactive' cards your congregation actually keeps ;) on file for the CO to see....

  who is making the travel arrangements for the international conventions?

  i heard somewhere they did not use outside sources anymore to coordinate the airfares, etc..

  GB approves entertainment auditioning for international delegates.

  i don't know if this was mentioned but i spoke with a jw from atlanta, georgia that informed me that the great gb has approved jw auditions.. yes, you read that right!

  now the jw's will have their own jw idol, jw voice, and dancing with jw stars, lol.. they are using an assembly hall in atlanta and jw's from all over are auditioning from 8am till 6pm.. supposedly the idea is to have live entertainment for the delegates traveling from overseas for the international conventions.. he said they have had jw's who can play all the hits from the beatles, play merengue, salsa, sing, dance, etc.. the gb is trying hard to make their cult look normal.. some of the questions this rises are,.

  heard "somewhere" ??

  The International Delegates are being left to their own devices to organise and buy their travel arrangements to get to the convention cities, be it by plane, boat, train or cross-country road-trip!! yeah!!

  They do though need to book a pre-selected hotel in each city which will enable the International Delegates to be grouped together thus making it easier for the coach trips and entertainment organisation!!
