  i have some unique and troubling news.

  i just got off the telephone with scott boer, vicki boer's husband and before that vicki.

  her honour, justice anne molloy, has just ruled on the legal cost issue in the boer case.

  This is the first I've heard of your story...(been watching too much Law and Order reruns lately)!

  I can't imagine what you must be feeling, but it makes me sick to read your story and about the ruling.

  First, I hope you can appeal the decision. and Second, if you do eventually have to pay the b@st@rds!!! I will help in any way I can. Third, I am in New York, and although I've never been too much of a fighter I will try and do what I can to get this to the media here!

  when i had a phone call that my uncle died just before i got on stage, i sat for a moment and i was looking my guitar.

  in those moments i saw my life passing by, and the days that i have spend with my uncle and cousins in summer holidays at our village in the mountains of greece.

  I just got off the phone with TeeJay

  some here may have noticed that recently teejay and i got into it a little bit on a thread i started about the locking of threads.

  about two years ago teejay and i got into it a few times in other threads.

  as much as i thought teejay was an intelligent guy and i have always gotten a kick out of his sarcastic sense of humor i still thought he loved to stir things up and take a few unnecessary jabs at people simply for the sake of jabbing them and causing trouble.. teejay called me tonight.

  This is a good question you raised. Why would a JW not be allowed to read Crisis of Conscience?

  If every person who ever doubted or questioned something the WTBS wrote or did was DA'd or DF'd there would be no more followers. When I found this website and started reading many of the posts, my heart was beginning to be crushed, because I felt that maybe the one organization that I had held my trust in for so many years was being abandoned by God. And the more I read the more the WTBS sounded like a cult.

  People in the dark ages were burned at the stake/cross for reading the bible.

  Why would the WTBS ban anyone reading anything that may help them in their search for truth? I don't understand it, but it makes me want to spit out nails when I hear of stories on this board of good people being Disfellowshipped and Disassociated and shunned for such matters as trying to expose pedophiles, or for reading Ray Franz' book and being spied on and considered apostates, and for even being open minded to post on forums such as this and get Disfellowshipped.

  I didn't intend to come off as cross as my post seems. I just get very discouraged with everyone sitting around trying to pinpoint a certain date. It is like taking power away from God. I always hated these type of Watchtower articles growing up. The important message I got from reading the gospels and revelation was what would we be doing when the lord arrived?

  I am sorry to hear about how FR minimized your wife's sincere question. It really upset me when he belittled my sister that way too.

  I meant as you said, Raymond Franz' book, and not his uncle Fred. I had remembered that I typed the wrong name when I was thinking about it yesterday. I certainly am not a scholar, just raised as a dub.

  Wow you guys/gals are really impressive spewing out these names like they are some sort of demigods who have authority to translate scriptures. All they are, Fred Franz included (as much as I love his book), are imperfect men who think they have more insight than the average man or woman. And they really get pumped up on this fact.

  While I am relatively concerned about the "times were living in" and what part 1914 plays, I think the bigger picture here is what we are DOING about it, rather than trying to pinpoint the exact hour that God is going to act out his wrath on a godless, wicked generation.

  And, I don't mean to burst your bubble there, Gameliel, but right after FR literally criticized my sister who was on her death bed, who was doing the "theocratic" thing by confiding in him that she thought she might be one of the annointed...(he told her..."so why do you think Jehovah would choose someone like you who hasn't built up years of "INTEGRITY" over someone with more "experience and time in Jehovah's service"?...Well, right after this, he was sent out to pasture in Patterson.

  Excuse me for saying so, but I think it is going to take more than a "scholar" to enter into the kingdom of God, that is if He hasn't already given up on this idea because of simple minds like us.

  i was in a flood once, it wasn't fun, ever since then never could picture a loving God pouring down turrents of water and killing innocent men, women and children...

  if that scripture is true then it is sort of comforting to remember the rainbow...seems the org never reflects on that side of the story
