Sorry this came up twice! It was stuck on "qued" for 10 minutes so I exited the browser. For some reason it ended up posting it twice the following day. -

WT predicted the future! They got it right!
by thedepressedsoul inin this sunday's watchtower they proceeded to put this in the article, "distractions, said the watchtowerof september 15, 1958, will likely increase as this world nears its doom.
how true!
"are they really patting themselves on the back for this statement?

Are they really patting themselves on the back for this statement? "Likely"? If that wasn't a broad statement I don't know what was!
Do they not realize they have printed failed prediction after failed prediction and now they want to show you their wisdom because they said something would likely happen?
I love how they quote themselves like it's some scientific statement that they are using as reference material to support their study article for that week.
This crap is getting harder and harder to sit through... -

Does Jehovah Intervene - JW Teaching
by thedepressedsoul ini have been a jw my whole life and i have never been able to get a clear answer on this question.
jw's do not believe that jehovah will intervene if someone is sick, dying or stopping a car crash.
they feel that jehovah is letting "this world" play out before he solves all of these problems.

I have been a JW my whole life and I have never been able to get a clear answer on this question.
Jw's do not believe that Jehovah will intervene if someone is sick, dying or stopping a car crash. They feel that Jehovah is letting "this world" play out before he solves all of these problems. For example, if Brother Faithful has cancer he is not to pray for Jehovah to heal him. Rather, Brother Faithful is to pray for strength to endure his challenge. Seems rather convenient right? Of course he's going to have to endure no matter what until the cancer kills him.
However, on the other hand you have brothers giving experiences at conventions, Kingdom Hall, Assemblies and Year Books about needing X amount of money to continue pioneering and Jehovah gave them exactly the amount they needed by a random donation. How Jehovah must have provided exactly what they needed!
Brother Faithful wants a new chair for his bible study room but can't afford one since he is pioneering. On his drive home from service he sees a great chair that someone is throwing out. How Jehovah must have provided that chair for him!
You guys get the point. So which is it? Jehovah won't provide for someone dying of a sickness or stop a car crash yet he will give Brother Pioneer $20 to make his bills or give him the new chair he didn't really need for his office?
I have yet to get a straight answer on this question. Does anyone have any insight?

Who was in the revised NWT translation committee?
Why did they really stop the book study?
Who came up with the crazy new generation teaching? If I had those answers I would have told everyone already. I know enough to see changes and whats going on. As for small details like that, I have not a clue.

At least as far as doctrine and run-of-the-mill JW policies go. But I have a feeling they've almost become puppet dictators. Someone else in the shadows (legal dept) really controls the future of the corporation. They just let these chumps feel like they're in charge.
It could very well be. When they changed their whole structure we have no idea who they put in charge of their different company divisions.

Most offensive I found was his treatment of mythicism. I think there's a reasonable case to be made for mythicism. Maher completely garbled it. Really annoying.
I agree, but you have to keep in mind that as a JW, I never even heard of the idea that there were other god's/stories that were before the bible and yet were the same stroy. That alone made me turn to Google.
