  so you infer there is the same amount of evidence for the accuracy of the NWT as there is for 607 as the date for the destruction of Jerusalem. You may as well mention what he has for breakfast in the same breath.

  Perhaps it is a bit of false reasoning, however, the NWT and 607 are both mysterious in their own right.

  607 with no real proof and the NWT with no real scholarly proof. Which they(Jws) say its good enough for us because we say so.

  The Jws are the only group that hold 607 due to timetable implications of their doctrine, and they hold the NWT for doctrine inforcement as well.

  In short the NWT comes from the same Org. that has contradicted itself over and over in the Watchtower, books, and statements over the years and actually inserted words into the NWT(text) but used the KingJames Bible for the first seventy years while their doctrine was formed. Why the change in Bibles?

  Has the WT earned the trust of the scholarly community with all their "flip-flops"?

  Thanks Alan I stand corrected.

  The plain fact of the matter is that the condition for the gift of the NWT to the Soiciety was that the names of that Committee were forever more to remain unknown and unknowable.

  Its the same with your kooky idea of 607. Both 607 and NWT are in the same boat. Nothing to back up NWT and nothing to back up 607.

  Bubba, that is true of all translations, which is why it is a good idea to compare translations to get a better grasp of what was originally written.

  What, like John 1:1? Or was that the imput of Johannes Gerber? (Nwt) A well known spiritist.

  The identity of the NWT is unknown and further, unknowable. .................................... Hence,it is the greatest of all mysteries and will remain so forever.

  Fred Franz, Nathan Knorr, George Gangas, Albert Schroeder, Karl Klein, Milton Henschel.

  Scholar I suggest Purple KIT, that should suffice.

  i was at the jws for jesus convention yesterday, even though i don't subscribe to their religion, & there are many other topics discussed.

  two different speakers said that signs work!

  they have experimented with advertising in papers & opening a phone line, but they are getting the most interest from non-confrontational, thought provoking signs posted around town.

  One must remember these Jws are just lost. Thats it. Their not bad people. The Org is bad. Ive found studying with them builds my faith, same with the LDS. They way Jws spin things are at times laughable.

  Bottom line they have exchanged the truth for a lie.

  ok, we all know the scripture where paul says "...i know a man in union with christ who, 14 years ago, was caught away to the third heaven.....whether in the body or apart from the body i do not know...he was caught away into paradise and heard unutterable words which it is not lawful or a man to speak.

  according to the october 15th watchtower, you wanna know what exactly this means?

  paragraph 9 says "....it would involve the christian congregation......when was that vision to be fulfilled?

  I dont understand your question. If your saying Adam had no other reaction to life than to be righteous is pure spectulation. Hence, good does not equal righteous.
  

  I would say " how is it possible for Adam to display any other actions than righteousness if he had a clean slate" but that doesnt wash either because your making good equal to righteous.

  I think you want to give Adam this great start in life without realizing he was just a innocent man, further the bible does not state he was perfect. Remember that teaching from the org. I ran this by my mom and she took the bait instantly. "Oh yes' she said, he was perfect thats why he lived so long"

  I said show me in scripture where it states he was perfect? All she had was "it was very good" Yes but good is not perfect. And neither is good righteous.

  If the bible had stated "he was created perfect" then I would lean towards Adams righteousness, but even thats problematic. How does a perfect man sin?

  Why did God not create Adam and Eve at the same time? Genesis 2:18 says (my apologies for using he NWT... ):

  And Jehovah God went on to say: "It is not good for the man to continue by himself. I am going to make a helper for him, as a complement of him."

  Apparently Gen Chapter 2 (seventh day) deals with their story and not a chronological order of creation.

  At what point did it all become good? At what point did God become perfect in his judgement? If Eve was a complement, Adam was surely not considered to be whole before Eve was created.

  Again Gen 1:27. Everthing God does is righteous and good.

  Good point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you noticed that they really don't like to answer OUR questions yet they will debate forever about their own interpretations of what was REALLY meant when the Bible said yadda yadda.

  In my very humble opinion........... oh who the hell am I pretending to be....... I have seen enough bullsh*t in my life by Christians (and not just JW's) that I have a very hard time accepting it as being the WAY to happiness/god/salvation.

  Show me a Christian who says they have it right and I'll show you a liar.

  As the "topic" says, I feel free to choose god as I see him to be. My perception of him works for me. If my opinion works for anybody else, then great, but I refuse to have any followers. I wouldn't feel right about people following me...... bad things happen when people follow.

  How do you see(perceive) the God you have choosen?
