The JWs are experts at the Red Herring. They talk about other religions and spew propaganda about those other religions hoping you dont NOTICE that they are describing THEMSELVES to a T!!
I remember reading a series of articles about Propaganda a few years ago that they wrote...and it positively made me PUKE!!
I think the minimum age should be 30 like when Jesus gave himself to be of service in the Temple and got baptized. Nobody has the LIFE experience at age 20 to be giving advice to "adults" about ANYTHING.
And they should serve for 4 years and then out. To not only give them some time to be with their families but to give others coming in a chance if they so desire. And nobody should be PO for more than a year to avoid power trips.

the flu - don't know how i got it or where it came from.
i haven't had strange urgings to have sex in the mud - so it's not the swine strain.. i look like a wreck - it's great though - it's so empowering walking around with messy hair, red swollen nose, red droopy eyes and not give a shit.. plus this also gives me an excuse for the hot toddys - yum!

Yep...the cunundrum. They cant possibly preach to all the people of the world so they came up with the "community responsibility" thing where if you were unfortunate enough to be BORN in mainland China and wont ever be able to hear the JWs SAVVVVVVING words at your door, you will die because by virtue of your living there where they dont support the preaching work...and you deserve to die. So that eliminates with large swoops, huge portions of the population the JWs cant get too and so they can still "preach to all the earth".
If you go to a door and they reject you even if you stutter and stammer and dont know how to answer their objections, and they dont accept a bible study from your lame ass presentation, they have just, in essence, committed suicide. They heard, they rejected, they're goats, they're doomed. This morning when they got up and made coffee they were still on the list to just die and be ressurected in the New System...and this JW comes along and blows all that out of the water.
Makes SENSE??? Hell no it doesnt make sense. But nothing they do ever does.

When I was getting ready to be baptized in 1985, I was living with the Congregation Overseer in Arlington Heights, ILL and his wife. Velours was going to be speaking at Janesville at the Circuit Assembly and was staying with us...which was HUGE at that time you know. Like GOD staying at the house. We stayed up listening to him tell stories and I hung on every word he said. I really liked the man, he seemed to me anyway, a gentle caring person. I was in awe of him. I had my picture taken with him at my baptism on June 1, 85.

I am glad you are finally finding some peace. I personally dont believe God has "expectations" of us. I think we impose those untenable unreachable rules and limits on ourselves and it impairs us. I think God wants us to live and love and laugh and enjoy our lives. He doesnt need servants! He doesnt NEED for anything. Like the Bible says...if He wanted to he could make the rocks talk.

This is free therapy. NOBODY outside this organization can believe the shit they do to us...and to each other. And what they REEEEALLY think about those people at those doors.
And if I save even ONE PERSON from going through the hell I have...every second of the last 12 years of fighting the borg was worth it.
