Thanks for all of your comments, I will print them all out for her to read. It should give her and her husband something to think about.
I cannot understand the Salvation Army's viewpoint, it's almost a case of putting man's rules in place of Jesus' words.
Do many other churches have the same idea i.e. not having communion?
Iv'e only ever been a Catholic or a JW. so I don't know much about other religions.

the only other church i have attended/had personal experience with was a church of the Abrahamic Faith (whose Pastor was Frank Toth, who posted here a couple of years ago, and was a Bethelite for some 45 years - roomed next to Ray Franz; Randy Watters probably knew him). They had communion weekly but it was a voluntary thing. It took me 3 visits before I partook with them.
