Only spirit anointed can commit the unforgiveable sin

Did I just stumble onto something here?

Wasnt Jesus and the Bible speaking to the anointed when it warned against sinning against the Holy Spirit?

How can those of us who have never received the H.S. sin "against" it????

Doesnt it mean denying the "little voice" that tells one you are a son of God, a chosen one?

How could we be ever charged with something like that?

The Great Crowd of Other Sheep never get any H.S.

We get holy spirit by osmosis. We rub up against a anointed and some holy spirit rubs off on us.

I had an elder tell me that because I rejected the WTBTS and searched the scriptures without their aids I was fulfilling Matthew 24:48-51when I asked questions regarding JW doctrines:

48 “But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, ‘My master is delaying,’ 49 and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, 51 and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be.

I think you'd be committing the unpardonable sin if and only if you actually knew that Jesus was the Christ (ie you were beyond faith) which implies you have met Him?! and then knowing exactly what you were doing rejected Him - ie saying that His suffering on the cross was not acceptable to you ergo - you don't desire anything He had to offer. I don't think there are many people who can actually commit this sin but at the time there were plenty of people.

    OK, I'll play.

I think that WITHIN THE WATCHTOWER UNIVERSE this may be a very good argument.

If so much of the Bible was meant for only the anointed then that applies to the warnings too. The other crowd is off da hook!

I'm sure we can expect an official apology from Brooklyn and a public vow to re-examine their steps more closely. sure we can.

Maybe thats correct, but it was made VERY clear to me, that all JWs were capable of sinning against the holy spirit. Did the WTS ever state that only the annointed received holy spirit? SOrry, its been so long I dont remember any of the theology!

Apparently the WT already thought of that, cf. Watchtower 8/15 1969:

Could one sin against the holy spirit today, and thus be beyond forgiveness? Yes, that is possible. A person could become so hopelessly corrupt in mind and heart as to carry sin to the point of sinning against the spirit. And one need not be a spirit-anointed Christian to do so. Remember that those Pharisees were not anointed Christians and yet they committed unforgivable sin.

Yes, but they were looking right into Jesus' eyes. They knew Lazarus had died and was resurrected and wanted to put him to death again to get rid of the evidence. Why would they want to kill him again? They were truly infected with a satanic desire. We just have to accept Jesus' words when he accused the pharisees of being offspring of Satan. And perhaps he was not referring to all of them, but just to those who had a truly evil spirit against him and who conspired against him. After all he could see into their hearts with Gods spirits help.

Adam and Eve spoke directly with God. May not see them again. Maybe not Cain either since God himself tried to calm his anger.

Satan and demons are prophesied to be destroyed forever.

The offspring of the Nephilim were destroyed at the flood.

That generation was pretty much judged by God before the flood waters started to rise.

The Canannites never got preached to really before the Israelites destroyed their towns.

Rahab the Harlot showed outstanding faith and so survived, she and her family.

The many persons put to death by the prophets and by the Israelite zealous leaders are all in question as to whether they will be seen again.

Aarons sons, the Egyptian Moses killed, those killed by the 10 plagues,

The Sodomites and Gomorites will probably come back. After all their sin was only sexual, not sin against the Holy Spirit.
Jesus hinted Judas probably will not be seen again.
Annanais and Sappira lied against the Holy Spirit as spirit anointed Christians.

I dont know. It is alot to think about.

I do think Jehovah for the most part is a forgiving God.....slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness and truth.

I believe more people than anyone can imagine have a place in his heart and will be seen again!

Only within the inadequate and flaccid realms of religious beliefs, is the Divine so diminutive as to have to choose some and abandon the rest. How dare we accept moronic little dogmas and scriptures which tell us where God begins and ends!

A "chosen one" is no more than an fool who has belittled and distilled the Divine down to fit into their microscopic little minds and over inflated egos.
