It IS a WTS doctrine!!! Also, a teaching, Smiles.
"Fear Jehovah!" (Actually means to them "fear the WTS heirarchy") There is fear of loss of family if you dissent or question anything they teach, fear of loss of all social contact and esteem. Fear you will die if you do not obey Jehovah (actually means the WTS heirarchy).

The promise of Paradise Earth and the chance to see loved ones again. That's the carrot. The whip is that the WTS is the Faithful and Discreet Slave. Case in point, how often are these two doctrines presented in the WT materials?

Yep... it's the Faithful and Discreet Slave™ doctrine. Not buying into it, or having doubts about it will get your @$$ gr@$$ed in a big hurry. In fact, questioning whether the WTS is the Faithful and Discreet Slave™ or trying to disprove the doctrine will speedily get you labelled as an Apostate™.

If there was no shunning I think a whole lot of people would be inactive or gone. They use it to instill fear quite effectively
