What a shameful cold-hearted attitude they have. and to mention looking for the elders and their families first? Statements like those show there truely exists no equality nor compasion in the heart of the wt.

I'm surprised they're even helping any of their own. I've known many JWs in the past, myself included, who suffered hardships of different sorts, and received no help at all from the congregations. Instead, the attitude was "You must be doing something to grieve Jehovah's spirit. Otherwise these things wouldn't be happening to you."

I think the only reason they are doing anything at all is because this is a large scale disaster that the whole world is aware of, and total inaction on their part would be too noticable. I'm sure they'll come out with an article one day to pat themselves on the back for their pitiful efforts.

If you are visiting this thread for the 2nd time, please re-read my OP because part of it was cut off...the part describing my entire purpose for starting this thread.

in order to bring it to 'the light' it needs to be an official communique from the top of the WTS so the borg can't refute it in any way.

It is not going to be in writing anywhere. Can anyone get this on tape?

    Danny, you rock.

The site states it's not sponsored by JWs or the WTS. It lists the Red Cross on the links page and states they can help find missing family members.

I subscribed to their newsletter and posted a question.

But take a look at the GENERAL INFORMATION - CASH DONATIONS, it wants to take you to:

It seems the money goes to themselves. Only Jeehover knows what will happen to this money.

    Hi everyone,

This is just in response to some peoples' suggestions to use parts of my story in the featured link:

I'm afraid I can't give you the name of that congregation because I really prefer to keep its/my anonymity. All it takes is the dubs putting direct quotes from elders like "government screening" together with who said that and who was in attendance and BOOM. I'll gladly give any direct correspondence i find lying around but prefer to have my direct quotes and references not used in any initiatives against the society at this time, esp. being that I don't post very often and am normally quite nervous about it. Thank you.

    undecided,

Just to be clear what my own thoughts were, I never even considered mentioning your story. The link given is not related to your story. There is a message board there but I personally had no intention of mentioning your story on it. I am very guarded about revealing my identity as well, probably for the same reasons you have.

What I would like to see is some way we can get documentation of what is going on so we can 'prove' it and perhaps bring it to light. The only idea I had was for someone to call and tape the conversation. That would be done w/o any mention of knowledge of what was really going on.

The JWs do a marvelous job at helping out... but only their own.

It's their modus operandi, and it's not going to change anytime soon. Their way of rescuing their own is absolutely superb! Even more so if the person happens to be very active and considered a 'pillar' in the congregation or if you're 'well connected' with the heavy ones.

Well, looking at it positively, at least they offer some sort of help if only to a chosen few. If every group or religious organization would offer the same sort of help, the problem wouldn't be as much for the government.

DY - Of the 'thankful for any help at this time' class.

This is not an official channel of Jehovah’s Witnesses or the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. The website is free to use; paid and maintained by brothers in Florida

This was put up independently by JWs in Florida. This is not an official WTS site.

http://www.jw-aid.com Any money donated to the Red Cross using the link on this site goes directly to the Red Cross for all people affected by Katrina. The money donated to the RC does not go through the WTS.
